Has PS ever had a feature where you can message members outside of the forums?

I know a lot of other forum-type sites do, and I''m just curious as to whether PS has ever had this feature? I read in a thread somewhere something that led me to believe that this used to be possible. I think that it would be really great to be able to message members directly. Just curious...

There was such a feature available previously, however as a site for consumer education, we feel that any information shared among the intelligent members here would be useful to everyone publicly. As long as it falls within the Forum Policies and standards of Pricescope.
