I got a ticket at the airport in Melbourne before we left but it wasn't me.

Funny (or not so funny story). On cup day my work mate and I were looking at the horses in the paper and made a last minute decision to have a bet since we were too late for the work sweeps. She tried to put a bet online and her credit card was blocked. Oh well, no bet.
We were watching the end of the race and couldn't see the number that crossed first. She said "HOT, if it's number 14 I am going to cry!"
And yeah. 14 was the winner!
Poor thing is a masters student and the few hundred she would have won if the bet had gone through would have helped her out immensely. I felt so bad for her!

For a good Cup story to balance your bad one, HOT - a friend of a friend bought a $3 mystery trifecta at Ascot...and won $60,000 on it!
