Hey guys... I am booking a flight and was wondering if anyone knew what the differences are between a regular coach seat and a handicapped accessible coach seat. Are they wider or something?
Don''t know for 100% sure, but I believe there is extra room in front of the seat for getting in and out of a wheelchair and perhaps even room for the chair to be secured - never booked one, but I feel like I''ve seen handicapped accessible seats when boarding before.
Most of the time, the arm rests on the aisle are liftable. This is so you can move someone from an aislechair (plane wheelchair) into the seat easily. You may also see a little more room in front but not always. Best to call the airline directly and ask and it may vary depending on the type of plane.
