Probably just a stupid question, but I have no idea. I keep seeing people making these heart symbols with their 2 hands together - index fingers and thumbs. Mostly younger people, from what I''ve seen. Is it just some new fad thing? Or something else? Haha it''s just been bugging me - I must be "out of touch."

It''s kind of a fad - just like resting your wedding ring in an open bible to make a heart. Sometimes the hand hearts can be really creative, though.

There''s a tv commercial out now for LensCrafters with people doing the hand/heart thing. I haven''t noticed anyone out in the world doing it, but I don''t go out much and am really out of touch! haha!

Now I like that MP! That''s very creative and meaningful.

stacy - I''ve just seen a lot of people doing it around everywhere. Lots of teenagers I know (friends and family) just doing it when they pose for photos or doing it with their "BFF." I also saw it on the last American Idol where the contestants went home and they''d show spans of the audience - all the tween girls were doing it.

Oh well, just something I was wondering.

MP I do like the photo you posted - very much - thanks.

Another "hand heart" obsession lately is for Danny Gokey. (american idol recent reject) It was a sign he always made on stage and others started doing it in support for him.

Sorry Luv, I must be out of the loop too!

MonkeyP: Great picture - very sweet.

That''s exactly where I saw it - especially when he went home, all the tweens in the crowd running after his limo were doing it. I didn''t know it was something he was doing though, haha - shows how much I pay attention when it''s on!

This is how I usually see people doing it. I just didn''t get if it meant something, like love. Sounds like a silly fad thing.

Of course, it''s no different I guess than teams having hand symbols for their mascots.

I do love the ones on pregnant bellies or with babies, like MP posted.

Virgina wanted to do an ad with the hand hearts since their state slogan is "Virginia is for lovers". In the ad it had two people with their hands making a heard. It sounded cute, but was ultimately rejected because the Chicago gang unit contacted them to let them know that there''s a Chicago gang that uses that symbol as a gang sign. I don''t know about you, but that symbol doesn''t really strike fear into my heart.

...ROFL.........

That''s kind of weak compared to all the ''blood'' symbols and stuff you used to hear about.

But hey, crime probably wouldn''t be nearly as bad if the gangs were the ''lovers'' and the ''givers'' huh?

AHAHAHAHA!
Now that''s one gang I could never take seriously. What are they going to do, love me to death? Ick.

I do it... and have since I was a kid.... I''d just say, I heart you... but usually I do it when I''m messing around and being silly.
I LOVE THAT PHOTO, BTW!
