Halloween thread?

Though right now the scariest things in my life are my landlord and the weather, I love Halloween, and I refuse to let recent events interfere. Let's talk Samhain.

I had been planning to dress as a lady dragon - I have a gorgeous shining blue 1950s day dress with a great full skirt, and an amazing corset printed with Chinese dragons that I found in Sweden. So, I was planning to paint my face green with little scales, don a red wig, and dress the baby in a baby dragon costume. Alas, both the baby's costume and my crinoline are now in storage somewhere in Jersey (long story). So, the modified version might simply be 1950s lady for me - baby fashions haven't changed much so I figure I can get away with just dressing the kiddo semi-formally. How about you?

I have been wearing the same GIANT black velvet witches hat (with feathers on the brim, no less!) for years now... Boring, but it works for me!

I was a toddler pageant contestant and my husband was my pageant mom at a part this past weekend. My ridiculously talented BFF sewed me an adult-sized pageant gown and then I bedazzled it with rhinestones. It was hilarious if I do say so myself. Obviously I had a routine and my husband would mime it to me just like the moms do on Toddlers and Tiaras.

I was la catrina/a Mexican sugar skull. I did the sugar skull makeup--it turned out really cute, but it took FOReverrr. Like, an hour and a half. Oh, and white greasepaint does not do wonders for your skin.
