Our official proposal came in from the florist overnight. His work is amazing, so I just gave him some minimal guidance. We are using peacock feathers, and I told him that I would like deep reds and lime greens to coordinate with the peacock feathers. He''s put together his proposal for the bouquets, centerpieces etc. and I just wanted to check with you experts that nothing seems out of order?

My bouquet: "gathered bouquet of gardenias, stephanotis (some with crystal inserts) and camellia leaves; ivory wrap with client''s rosary draped with cross on handle" (I had requested the rosary be included - it''s my "something old" from my First Communion!)

Bridesmaids'' bouquets: "gathered bouquets, not tight, designed with black magic roses, gloriosa lilies, green cockscomb, blue viburnum berries, peacock feather collar, deep red stem wrap" (bridesmaids are wearing marine blue)

Flower girls: "very small bouquets, bridesmaids colors; halos (head wreaths) made with deep red spray roses and blue viburnum berries"

Bride''s mother''s bouquet: "clutch bouquet, two gardenias"

Groom''s mother''s bouquet: "clutch of black magic roses, deep maroon trim"

Groom''s bout: "triple stephanotis"

Groomsmen bouts: "clusters of deep red spray roses with a touch of blue viburnum berry"

Ushers: "same"

Father of the bride, father of the groom, grandfather: "white mini calla lily"

Ringbearer: "single spray"

Readers: "white dendrobium orchids (wrist corsages)"

Program attendants, Eucharistic ministers: "white dendrobium orchids (wrist corsages)"

----

Decoration for the ceremony:

Ceremony area: gold urns filled with long palm leaves

Aisle and pew decorations: two columns with urns filled with large arrangements in the bridesmaids colors; move during ceremony to the reception venue

Entrance: swags of foliage and white ribbon for handrails

----

Decoration for the reception:

Seated table centerpieces: "ten clarinet vases filled with tall arrangements consisting of an abundance of peacock feathers, lily grass, aspidistra leaves, magnolia leaves, black magic roses, green cockscomb, belles of Ireland; on the remaining tables, use low glass containers with arrangements of green hydrangea, deep and brighter red roses, viburnum berries and a collar of a few peacock feathers"

Dance floor: gold lamps for six cocktail tables (we asked him to cut back and not use florals for the dance floor to save $), thought this would give the room a more clubby look

Simple toss bouquet

Flowers/peacock feathers for cake

Linens: floor length ivory stripe on stripe for cake table; floor length ivory with turquoise iridescent crush silk topper for dining tables; ivory chair covers with turquoise iridescent sashes for dining tables; ivory with blue table cloths for club tables on the dance floor

----

Phew, that''s it! The Cathedral and the reception site are very ornate, so we didn''t think we needed many flowers decorating the church or the common areas of the reception.

Anyhow, if you know flowers and can envision this, I''d love your input, or if I''ve left anything out!!

::bumping:: just ''cos.

Sounds really lovely. I’m gonna need pics! I didn’t see any peacock feathers included in your all white (with Camilla greens) bouquet, so I don’t know if that matches what you wanted. There are also no feathers in your bouquet. I’m not seeing a lot of ‘lime’ flowers in there. There ARE green hydrangeas, cockscomb, bells of Ireland and some other touches of lime green. But if you wanted lime green flowers – like lime dendro orchids, there aren’t any that I really see. I still think there will be a lovely amount of the green you wanted, but not like lime green flowers as such. Your bouquet is going to have no lime green… the Camilla leaves are a deeper green so if you want a little color coordination you could ask for a couple springs of a brighter green in your bouquet. The rest looks great, so long as it is what you asked for. It’s hard for me to evaluate the order, since I’m not sure what exactly you asked for. For example the ceremony pieces are pots filled with leaves. Sounds lovely—as long as that’s what you asked for. If you wanted floral arrangents in the urns to match the aisles and pews… that’s not what’s listed.

Thanks, Gypsy! I am so glad you spotted the lime green issue - that''s not something that would have occurred to me. I will ask him to put some lime traces in my bouquet.

I decided to keep the feathers out of my bouquet because I wanted a creamy look. I wonder if maybe I can ask for some white feathers to be added - that could be cool!

As far as the ceremony flowers - we did agree on the palm leaves as a cost-effective way of filling some space. The cathedral is very ornate, so we didn''t think many flowers were necessary at the altar.

Thank you!!
