Happy Year of the Pig, everyone! I'm a rooster and my husband is rabbit, which is supposed to be one of the worst combos but it works for us. I wonder if it matters that we're both born near the change of our signs. Anyway, I removed the gold dog statue from near our front door and replaced it with a pig this morning.

I had my nails done yesterday by a sweet pregnant lady from Vietnam. She said that she and a few others tried to have babies during the year of the pig because it is supposedly very fortunate!!!

Thanks!! I was told the same thing about it being lucky/fortunate when we told one of our Chinese friends! We didn't plan around that but it was great to know!

I’m a tiger by the Chinese calendar cause I was born in January before Chinese New Years. My mom jokes that I was “supposed” to be born a rabbit but I was too “Li hai” (fierce) and came early so I could be a tiger.
I’ve heard there are Chinese parents who plan around having their baby be born in a pig or dragon year!

A good thing. Were you born in 1947?. b/c it only comes around once every 60 yrs. The last GOLDEN PIG YEAR was in 2007, so next one would be 2067.
