This is not a poll of who you'd vote for.
It's a poll of who you think will win.

Currently it seems very likely only 3 candidates have a chance in November, Trump, Clinton and Sanders.

Since there are two possible races please vote once for each.
IOW I set up this poll so you can vote twice.

I voted that I think Clinton would beat Trump, but that Trump would beat Sanders.

I'd definitely vote for Sanders if he's the candidate, but I think he'd lose because he's too out there for the majority of voters.

I might actually cry if HC doesn't become the POTUS. I voted Clinton vs. Trump, Clinton winning. I like Sanders, but I'm a raging classist, ageist, racist ******* and a staunch feminist who just wants to see HC killing it every day as the POTUS, and not another old white dude; sorry, not sorry. Now everyone get offended! We need some action around here these days, Hangout is the slowest I've ever seen.

Ditto. I think Clinton will beat Trump and that Trump would beat Sanders. I would also vote for Sanders if he was the candidate because I do prefer him over Clinton. Sorry Monnie. But if it makes any difference I am voting for Clinton over Trump so I do have my priorities straight despite disliking Clinton.

ETA: I don't know what I'm doing wrong but could only vote once in your poll Kenny.

I voted, but it's purely a guess. I am mortified with the choices we are left with. They are all various levels of crazy - some of them are just better at hiding it than others. Clinton is no better than Trump, so I won't be voting in the election.

Vote for Oprah then! She'd give everyone a free car! :appl:

I think it's going to be Clinton vs Trump and Clinton is going to pants Trump. My second vote was Trump Sanders, and with Sanders winning. I just cannot believe that Trump has a snowballs chance because of his racism and misogyny. Right now he's riding the tide of angry white racists, but they're a fringe group in America (I sincerely hope) and he is going to lose in the general.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/trumps-many-bigoted-supporters/2016/04/01/1df763d6-f803-11e5-8b23-538270a1ca31_story.html

There have been a lot of polls about this, so I won't link to everything, but I can't imagine that a man who calls Mexicans rapists, and has said that women are arm candy, and if you put men and women together you should expect women to be raped, can possibly win the general. Maybe I'm too idealistic.

I'm not going to go after the GOP political beliefs. My husband is a life-long republican, and I understand why he has his political beliefs (he's a fiscal Republican, not a social conservative). He is not supporting Trump, because my husband is not a racist.

I just saw the latest poll shows Trump catching up. There is only a 2% point difference. It seems that a good amount of people find him sane enough to be President.

I agree, Monarch, it quite uninteresting on hangout. I think we know what everyone is going to say about the election at this point. Liberals, IMO, far left liberals, rule the board, so any difference in outlook begets name calling. There were a few good discussions on it until it goes downhill. I have had some nice discussions in real life, which I prefer.

Hmm ... scratching head ... Oh ... perhaps this explains ...

You must make two choices before clicking the vote button.
Is that what you did?

Or did you make one choice, vote, then try to make your second choice and vote again?
That does not work.
Only the former works.

In retrospect, I see I should have explained that and will in future polls.
It had not occurred to me someone would try that, though now it does make perfect sense since I wrote, "Since there are two possible races please vote once for each.
IOW I set up this poll so you can vote twice.".

Sorry missy,

I voted
trump v Clinton - Clinton
trump v sanders - Trump

I love Bernie, but I think he's a bit too far ahead for most of the US at this time. But then again, I'm just a socialist Canadian, what do I know

Guessed that Clinton will beat Trump, but wouldn't put money on it. It's early.
Agree with Smit that it's difficult to have civil political discussions here. I can see why people not in lock-step with the majority would feel unwelcome. I've not been really active online anywhere, so I can't say, but things probably get rough on any site.

Hate to say it but I think it will be Clinton vs. Trump with Trump winning. :(sad

People are tired of the same BS. Trump has a lot of followers.

Sorry missy,

Thanks Kenny. My mistake completely. Your instructions were fine and it was me not thinking when I voted and I just voted once automatically thinking I could go back and vote again. D'oh.

My next door neighbors at the beach have 3 (that's right 3) Trump signs on their property. 2 on their porch and one on their lawn. The one on their lawn keeps getting stolen hahaha (I know this from her posting on FB about it) so I have a feeling they won't be replacing that one anymore. Hence they put 2 up on their porch. LOL. But really I'm like ;( ;( ;(

Millennials want socialism? Think again!. Happening right in front of your eyes.... :wall:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/may/12/us-millennials-craving-socialism-should-look-venez/

To show how easy this is nowadays with the wonder of the internets, with a flick of the wrist, I go to the actual study referenced in your linked piece, and find….(wait for it…..) IT’S COMPLICATED. It appears that US millenials are NOT “craving socialism”.

http://iop.harvard.edu/youth-poll/harvard-iop-spring-2016-poll
“Majority of 18- to 29-Year-Olds Reject Both Socialism and Capitalism. When 18- to 29-year-old young Americans were asked whether or not they support socialism, capitalism, and other political theories and labels, a majority reject both socialism and capitalism. Socialism is supported by 33% of young Americans, while capitalism is supported by 42%. Among those most likely to vote, 41% support socialism and 52% support capitalism. Socialism is typically more supported by 18- to 20-year-olds (41%), Democrats (50%), Clinton voters (54%), Hispanics (38%) and African Americans (39%). Capitalism is more likely to be supported by people who have graduated from college (56%), whites (43%), men (49%), people who live in the South (46%) and the West (45%), and members of the GOP (54%).”

Nothing like implying a fact that isn’t, so you can faux refute it. So who told you that millenials prefer socialism? Even the article you posted states that the form of “socialism” that most people are talking about is NOT socialism ala Venezuela, but Europe. Stuff like health care and expanded maternity leave, etc. So pointing to a particular flavor of socialism that millenials have not indicated that their use of the word “socialism” actually means when they say it, as some sort of warning, is silly. Besides, we’re never going to get a pure form of any ism, especially in this country, so whipping ourselves into a froth about the prospect of becoming socialist ala Venezuela, is silly. Socialism and capitalism are ideas on a continuum, they are not as easily defined as you obviously think. So really what we’re arguing about is the proper proportion of “me versus us” that will be expressed in our governance of ourselves. And who "us" is.

If Clinton loses Ca. to Sanders The Democratic Convention in Philly will be fun to watch.

I'm starting to think Trump is going to win.
