I''m hoping someone can recommend a graphic artist who can help me design an STD card along the lines of the attached.

I can''t seem to get this one out of my head!

Thanks so much!

Haha that''s my inspiration save-the-date!! I''ve been working with Kristy Rice from Momental Designs. She hand-draws, so it''s a slightly different feel..but we essentially did a version of that save-the-date for our story.

Hope this helps! Kristy''s Site

Thanks Sarah!

Woohoo for using the same STD inspiration!

I'm looking through Kristy's website right now and am loving her work.

Can you give me an idea of price and timeline? I feel like I'm running out of time!

Hey CDN! No advice, just wanted to say hello and tell you how cool I thought your save the date "inspiration" was. We didn''t have save the dates because our wedding was too small. I''m hoping to get the invite pictures up on Sunday though - they turned out really neat.

Keep posting ideas for me to steal . . . ;)

I know several graphic artists (work with them daily, as I''m in marketing).

I don''t know if he would do a wedding invitation, but Steve Williams in Los Angeles is an extraordinarily creative graphic designer. www.smartartanddesign.com. He''s not cheap, but if you can afford it, he''s worth every cent.

Sorry CD I just realized I hadn''t responded to you!! Her prices were pretty good I thought, for the save-the-date overs ended up being about $300 total. Do you want to see ours? I haven''t posted it yet..but we''ve finished approving the poof now! Maybe I will post it..haha.

I am so glad you like her, too, and that she made a beautiful save-the-date for you! I will go check it out!

Thanks marchswallowbird. I ended up booking Kathy Rice but enjoyed looking through Steve''s portfolio; creative it right!

Sarah, I''d love to see yours! I thought it might be in Kristy''s Current Projects section but didn''t see anything similar to the inspiration STD we both used. Post it!!!

Yay, I''m so glad you liked them! I felt a little silly getting excited over stationary... Am so glad you''re a Kristy bride too. Have you come up with a concept/theme yet?

Also, I''d like your opinion on something. For our first draft, Kristy used our nicknames (shortened from our full names). Close friends and immediate family members call us by these names but extended family members do not. Do you recommend sticking with the nicknames or going with the more formal full names? I wanted to keep it more casual but I don''t want guests receiving our STDs and going "Who the heck is ____ and ____?!?!"

We had the same idea/concept, haha..that''s why I sent you to Kristy because she did ours. It looks different of course since we have a different story, different color theme, and different dates..but the layout is essentially the same. Our save-the-date was tones of green, ivory, and pink. As for the names..you know..we actually wondered this, too. But we stuck with the shorter names and I figure whoever can''t figure it out will call. Haha! Does that make sense?

You could try Dickey Design, the main artist makes everything custom to order.....

CDN, haha - no need to feel silly! I'm exactly the same way

I first connected with Kristy in August after reading about Sarah and Doodle's experiences with her (thanks ladies). Since FI and I are having a smaller wedding we were comfortable spending a bit more money on having custom invitations made. We kinda knew what we wanted, but didn't know exactly how that would translate onto paper. After seeing samples of Kristy's custom work it all became pretty clear. Unfortunately, it's been a bit of a slow process, but a worthwhile one nonetheless. In all fairness to Kristy, we've been slow in confirming details with the church and the hotel and then once some of that was confirmed, we sent back the original sample she provided because we weren't totally pleased with the drawing. Anyways, we're back on track - we love the new sample, but now we're working on the wording and colours.

Regarding your STD's, I agree with Sarah that it's fine to use your nicknames. After all, this is how the majority of your loved ones refer to you and FI, right? I think anyone who's not sure will just clarify and that's not a big deal imho.

Yeah we took FOREVER to get back to her I feel so bad about that!! But oh well. Our sample is confirmed now so hopefully we''ll have them soon!
