Wedding Got a dress! And a job!

I''m not sure which I''m more excited about, to be honest.

I am thrilled about the dress, although I have to admit it was the product of about 2 hours'' careful search. I bought it off the rack after finding out that I wouldn''t be able to order one and have it in with time for alterations before October 10th. This one will have to be taken in a size (especially in the bust - which is a first! my mom says it must''ve been designed with Dolly Parton in mind), but it was the only one I tried that actually gave me a more defined waist.

It''s french taffeta (crinkly, shiny silk) and it has a really organic, asymmetrical beaded embroidery that I love.

Without further ado, I give you Demetrios GR108 (promotional image first - don''t get me started about her bizarre posture)...

And my goofy self! The pictures came out rather silly and yellow. The silly is my fault, the yellow is Macy''s fault (I suppose?), and the angle is due to the fact that my now officially unofficial bridesmaid is ten inches shorter than I am. And I was standing on a pedestal.

It''s elegant but beachy, I think, and I like that I can actually walk around in it. Now I have to decide on the veil issue. And shoes. And jewelry. It never ends...

Oh, and I threw out the job thing in case any of the lovely ladies who helped me with my interview suit search would know that their efforts were not in vain! I ended up getting several job offers, and I took an amazing position teaching kindergarten on the UES. I''m so excited!

Okay, I''m going to stop replying to my own thread now. I''m just excited because it''s been a good week. Hee.

I gotta say, I never thought I''d end up with a bright white dress. All my friends preferred it over the ivory, though, so they totally won me over.
