Does anyone here have any positions in them?

On a related note, can anyone explain why gold ETFs (like GLD) do not mimic/follow actual gold prices?

GLD should mimic pretty close to 1/10 oz of gold minus trust expenses.

IMO...silver (SLV) would be a better play in the metals market. if...you like to play the metals market.

If investment is the objective, it''s better to just own the physical.

It can also trade above or below net asset value, which can cause a failure in tracking. These anomolies should not last long though.

I read GLDs disclosure; it makes you prefer to own the physical gold. Lots of odd things especially regarding insurance of the gold they hold and their limits of liability.
