Yellow Gold Chains(and a few sterling) are being worn by almost everyone of the athletes in the Olympic games this year...do you think this will influence jewelry fashion and bring back the gold chain...I have always liked the look of a single, medium weight yellow gold chain on both men and women...Ive collected several(my favorite is the woven wheat link) and worn one almost every day for 30-plus years. What are the opinions of the forum.

well, i think to a certain extent... it will.. but most importantly, have u noticed the demand for jade?

It''s deja vu all over again! Must be the eighties!

No, I will not take to wearing a gold chain around my neck. Too cliche, in my opinion. Maybe I just think it would look like I never left the ''80s, and got stuck in the past. Those of us beyond the ''middle of middle age'' are careful to erase the evidence of past trends from our wardrobes every decade or so. We have a fear of being considered fuddy-duddy!

It''s kind of like platform sandals and wedges. Didn''t wear them this time around; I figured it would make me look like I was trying too hard to be cool!

Sorry but gold chains on men have always shouted Lounge Lizzard and "Wild and Crazy Guys" to me.

When a giant emblem is added, I expect to see the wearer in FUBU clothing, driving a black Hummer with tinted windows.

You always seem to say exactly what I''m thinking! You are so in my head!

The thought of a man in a gold chain makes me think of this.

That said, I think certain men could definitely wear one and look attractive, I just think it''s rarely a look that is well executed.

I actually answered this thread in the other forum... and now I can''t remember where that is...

I am happy to hear a discussion about that great ''difficulty'' facing men and gold chains... how to wear them nicely!

Is it the thickness? Is it the link? Is it the length? Is it the hair that peeks from the chest underneath?

This is a personal issue for me. My man is not really interested in jewellery because of the fuss factor - he doesn''t like to take things on and off.
Personally, when it comes to gold chain jewellery, I would prefer a lovely heavy bracelet chain, but that is too ''in the way'' for him.
So necklace it is!

Unfortunately, he has a rather long, swanlike neck, and I think it might look a little silly on him...
he also is a yellow gold man! Otherwise, how can he tell if it''s really gold?

ROFL!!!
I''m going to make fun of my DH now! LOL!

He is buying, like RIGHT NOW, a blacked out, black rimmed, black chrome, HUMMER! LOL!

If he ever wore a chain with an emblem I''d have to leave him. ROFL!
