i just wore my bra and spanx, i was comfy!

I would really urge you to try nude colored spanx one more time. They really are pretty comfortable and they have a pee slit area so that you don''t have to take them off hwen you need to go. I wore them with my dress and it smoothed everything out and you couldn''t see them at all. I''m just not sure I''d go commando...

Wow just typed a long response and I lost it

Ugh its so hard to rewrite all this!

Here''s the summary:

Thanks for all the responses! Now I feel like I have some more options to try.

The issue is not so much my body as it is the fact that I like to wear low-rise thongs that create the little bulge of fat on my sides. Granny panties or spanx are probably the answer but I am just not comfortable wearing underwear above my hips.

Going commando wouldn''t be the worst thing in the world because I am eloping so it''s not like I''ll be standing in front of my grandmother thinking "Oh my god I''m not wearing panties!" And luckily there will be no garter toss!

But it would definitely be a last resort. Thanks Miracles, for pointing out the butt cleavage thing. I hadn''t thought of that and yes that will drive me crazy. I definitely don''t want to be picking at my butt all night either.

So right now I''m feeling like I''ll have to choose between being uncomfortable because I am bare or being uncomfortable because there is something over my tummy.

I do love the hanky-pankies though they are very cute. I have tried on similar styles at VS and even they leave the bulge. If I try on a bigger size then they are too long front to back and ride up.

I will definitely try the target brand because they are cheap so it can''t hurt.

Lets face it.... I just need to try a pair of spanx and see don''t I? Everyone seem to rave about them. But are they really more comfortable then nylons? I can get used to nylons but I still find myself picking at my belly in them and yes sometimes I just roll them down to my hips!

I wouldn''t try commando unless you have thorougly inspected all lighting sources. I would hate for you to go outside and your dress be see through or be see through with flash photography

Ha ha I know, I was totally thinking of what happened to John Kerry''s daughter.

It was upper 80''s in TX for my wedding. I wore the spanx anyway.

If you don''t need the support, how about a barely there thong? If you can see it under the dress, you''ll need more than your Underoos! You''ll need a slip!

Try a size or 2 larger than what you are used to wearing.

ETA - I guess I should have read the whole post before responding. By the way, I went commando. I wore a strapless, lace, fitted sheath. I bought a pair of the Higher Power Spanx - but they just didn't feel right. I'm tiny, but curvy - so I got the smallest size and it still gaped open around the top.

WIth the hanky panky''s, you could try the low rise ones or the regular ones - the low rise might avoid that problem with them being too long from back to front. Also, I''ve tried similar styles from other brands and they gave me a bulge, but the hanky pankys honestly don''t at all. They also help to avoid the butt cleavage thing that Miraclesrule mentioned, because the back is...um...wider than normal, if that makes sense, so it doesn''t really ride up. Hmmm...not sure if that makes sense but I don''t want to risk offending anyone by putting it even less delicately

Mia,

I wear these: Target lace boy shorts

They are comfortable, surprisingly sexy on, and no lines! I use them for all slinky things, no bulges ever.

I would just go commando. I do it all of the time. Of course, that''s usually wearing jeans/pants, but really, with that long of a dress, its not like you''ll risk exposing yourself.

I might suggest going commando for a couple of days beforehand to get used to it.

It''s really not that big of a deal.

UPDATE: K so I tried the target version of Hanky Pankies and they were fabulous! I tried on a pink pair with my wedding dress (happened to have them on the already) and although there was no bulge, I could faintly see the pink lace under my dress. So when I take my dress to get hemmed I''ll try it on again with the nude ones and if I still can see it, I''ll probably have to get a slip

I might still get the hanky pankys because I sort of wish the lace on the target pair were a little silkier. And I am thinking a more expensive pair might be softer lace.

I also tried the Hanes 360 stretch and some boy shorts but nope, still had the bulge. My body just carries fat in the worst places
