IMO...it would be very impolite to use profane language when ladies are present.

Yes they do.

Well, considering I cuss more than all of my guy friends put together, I suppose I should say no! I have a terrible potty mouth

Yup, and I join them!

Yes, but I think I am worse than they are.

Yes. We swear like sailors in our circle of friends, male or female. It''s just how we roll.

It is just as impolite to use foul language in front of men as it is women.Using foul language shows lack of respect reguardless of the gender of who is within hearing range.

Men and women are equal now.

Yes, sometimes but it doesn''t happen all that often.

At work, I cuss far more than the men. It freaks them out. We almost had a "cuss" far that required us to pay each time we were caught. It was going to charity, but I said "Don''t bother, here''s my $20 for the week".

They tend not to.

I don''t usualy swear in public, and those around me don''t seem to either.

( I don''t realy care one way or another if they do or don''t)

I sound pretty fake if I try to swear in a casual friendly manner.

My heavens, what a frightful thought. Of course not.

ditto - I''m quite casual with the swearing, and Fi and I swear quite a bit (casually, not usually at each other!) without it being an issue.
Same with other guy friends, although I do tone it down in public and don''t do it at work.

I think its generally more excepted in Australia though - I don''t think some of our TV shows etc would last very long in the US!

now now..you both ask equally inane questions.

What do you expect?
I escaped from the inane asylum.

My Mother In Law is probably the worst person I know for swearing. It is particularly hilarious as she is frightfully well spoken, she sounds like the Queen Mother, but uses the most profane language. My DH used to swear a lot until I told him it was indicative of a poor vocabulary. If I am really really angry a few choice words might slip in

Some things can only be accurately expressed with naughty words.

My male friends don''t tend to curse too much-I''d say I''d outcurse them.

I curse in front of them, they curse in front of me.

Yes. Sometimes they apologize. Sometimes they don''t anymore because I tell them I don''t mind.
My favorite use of That word is "Why the F*** would..." or "What the F*** are..." Other than that I really don''t swear.

Now that I''m thinking about it, my friends only swear when damage has been done - someone''s done something so stupid or the QB didn''t pass the football, lol. They aren''t the type to say "Look at that F***in car, man."

the real question is...do I curse in front of my male friends??

I''m not easily offended, and I tend to curse a bit, so frankly, I don''t even notice when others curse in front of me. I do think it''s a bit obnoxious when a curse word is peppered into every sentence and stands in for other verbs, adverbs, and adjectives that would convey more meaning. But every now and then, the curse word is much more efficient to convey meaning.

All the time....and sometimes, I join in.

DF, that''s because you''re a gentleman!

And yes, most of my male friends don''t think twice about cursing, no matter who might be present. But it really doesn''t bother me!

No...they do not.

Yes, they do. When BF and I hang out with friends, it''s usually a group scenario. Everyone''s been friends for a very long time, so it''s pretty much anything goes.

My best friends boyfriend (who is also my boyfriends best friend, lol) makes pretty nasty jokes .. I''m pretty laid back and I have a good sense of humour, but I don''t find him funny

Sometimes it''s hard for me to hang around them because of him.

Yes they do, and I do in front of them as well, although I am trying to work on that
