who serves the best ice cream in your home town?

Ecco Gelato, is the best here

I love chocolate hazlenut, pistachio, and some of the fruit sorbets. How about you DF???

Rossi''s is pretty good. We don''t have a freezer

I prefer ice cream just about everywhere else but where we live although we get some pretty good ice cream from our farm shop. We just have to eat it as soon as we get home because we have no place to store it.

I like coffee and mint chocolate chip mixed together.

There''s a place in our local shopping center that serves the best mint ice-cream-it''s so delicious. I''m in Ireland though so not sure if that''s too helpful for you!!

Liks. It has been here for 30 years and all the natives know about it. Although it is local, all the national grocery chains carry it in their area stores because it is so popular. Nothing compared to Italian ice cream, but the best I have had stateside.

Meyer Dairy (a local dairy where I also get milk in glass bottles). Their maple walnut ice cream is my absolute favorite!

Oh my. My stomach actually hurts thinking about that. But, to be fair, my stomach hurts after I *eat* any flavor of ice cream!

Not that that stops me

. My latest discovery is a new Haagan Daas flavor called "Fleur De Sel Caramel". Its caramel ice cream with a thick caramel swirl and mixed in there are tiny chocolate covered caramel candies. Like mini WHOLE Whitman''s candies or something. Tiny. Delicious. And the whole thing has a Sea Salt overtone. UNBELIEVABLE.

I like cold rock :) YUMMMY

they get ice-cream and smush chocolates and candy or cake whatever you like in it :D.

Otherwise in the city there is this magnificent gelato place that does the most yum flavours and is really nice to just kick back and enjoy, you only need a little to be satisfied.

ATM seriously way to cold for ice-cream *shudder*

Hey now! Be nice to my ice cream! It sounds weird, I know it does. But if I get two scoops of coffee flavor by the end I''m kinda burnt out on it. And I like mint chocolate chip a lot. So you put one of each in the little thing and just have a bit of each on the spoon. It''s a lovely, strong coffee flavour with a touch of mint. Yum!

Ok, yeah, it''s gross to a lot of people. But no worse then those people at Starbucks who get caramel flavoured coffee with whipped cream and that, I assume, chocolate flavoured syrup on top!! Now that'' a combination that doesn''t belong together!

oh and I like mocha chip...

My favorite''s are Cold Stone and Perry''s Ice Cream. I have to say my favorite flavors are mint chocolate chip and strawberry cheesecake.

I love Baskin Robbins!!

Ditto and Cold Stone Creamery! There''s a great little place around here, but the ice cream is too rich so I go to BR and Cold Stone more often.

My favorite topic! I love Mitchell''s ice cream in San Francisco. They have a baby coconut flavor called, Buko, and I pile on another scoop of their rocky road for good measure. Mmmmmm, Mitchell''s.

I''m not really an ice cream girl because it makes me so thirsty, but every once in awhile I get a craving for Dreyers Rocky Road and the Drug Store Malted Ball Crunch. The Malted Ball Crunch is pure comfort food and reminds of when I used to get a cone for 5 cents a scoop. Sheesh, that makes me sound old doesn''t it?

Mine is Ciao Bella in NYC -- particularly the Fresh Mint Chocolate Chip gelato and the Cantaloupe Tarragon sorbet. Yum!

I''m really digging haagan daas "pomegranite chip" right now...just the right amount of tart with dark choc chunks...

I love gelato...there is a great place but I can''t remember the name. I loved Italy for the gelato...

Blue Bell Ice Cream = at most grocery stores in and around Texas!

2nd place goes to Amy''s in Austin, Texas

My favorites are Hagen Daz Strawberry and Cold stone''s Sweet Cream. I am the MOST boring icecream person ever. OH, yeah I like Ben and Jerry''s Fudge Brownie or whatever it is.

When I was a kid Baskin Robbin''s Gold Metal Ribbon was my favorite. I still like it, but I haven''t seen it in a while.

Oh and Thrifty''s ice cream (drug store that used to carry ice cream, some of the Rite Aid''s that bought them up still carry it) in chocolate and English Toffee.

Cold Stone sucks. (Used to work there don''t get me started!)

Cupcakes. Not cupcake ice cream, cupcakes.

And I make the best ice cream in town, but I haven''t done it in a while. So I''ll go with Baskin Robbins. Nothing beats the Pralines and Cream. Except my own flavors of course!

There are so many places in my state to get great ice cream! It is said that my state consumes more ice cream and jello than any other state...any guesses where I live?!

Baskin and Robbins baby!!!!!!!!

Their Cookies and Cream is my absolute favourte, YUMMO
18.gif
I love banana icecream too. Heck, I love ALL icecream!
30.gif

I dig Coldstone once in a while. My favs have to be Ben & Jerry''s vanilla, Brigham''s Chocolate Chip and a local ice cream in Boston called J. P. Lick''s Mint Chocolate Chip.

For shop bought ice-cream, I love Ben & Jerry''s Caramel Chew Chew

The best ice-cream over here I think is the ''99''. It''s a wafer cone with whipped ice-cream on top, and then a Cadbury''s Flake stuck into the ice-cream. Most filling stations and newsagents etc sell them. The secret is to find a shop that sells whipped ice-ceam made with cream supplied by one of the dairies (Dawn, Avonmore etc). If you are in Ireland and fancy a 99, avoid all shops with an Angelito sign outside - it''s just not the same!!!

The 99 presents the eater with a delicious dilemma - whether to eat the Flake first, or push it down into the cone and save it for last!

We have Graeter''s! I live in KY. It is fabulous!

I really like the Ben and Jerry''s flavor with coffee ice cream and toffee pieces. I like my ice cream to be full of other stuff!

I''m with you. of the national chains, I don''t like cold stone. The texture is questionable at best and their chocolate flavors have no flavor.

Of the chains Baskins is my favorite, they have something called world class chocolate that just makes my day.

When I was little my dad made ice cream, I miss those days.
