LOL, job interviews are pretty much the only place I wear my (two-tone) Rolex! Then again, the financial industry isn't (yet) being run by 22 year olds, so I think I'm safe in my Talbots suits for a few years yet.

Apparently wearing a gold Rolex screams old and outdated! Looks like DF is un-hirable!

Three of the people in the front row of that facebook photo have watches on...looks like the rest don't. Most people I know don't wear watches and the ones who do are those who cannot use their phones during work hours so they can't check their phone for the time. I haven't worn a watch in over 15 years! lol

i have too much hair to be a CEO...

silicon valley = silly valley......

The what-goes-round-comes-round beauty of this situation, is that the arrogance of youth is absolutely guaranteed to be self-correcting. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

And in a classic ode to having been around long enough to know where the bodies are buried, Kevin Spacey in "American Beauty", a film that simply cannot be appreciated properly until after 40.... I absolutely ADORE this scene.

One time I interviewed at an ad agency...they wanted me to come in right away. But, it was Friday and I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with a cartoon monkey. I know, lame. I was hired on the spot. NO WAY I would wear that now...I have a more professional wardrobe. I do try and dress hip/fun/biz casual because I'm in my 30s. Interviews are hard because you don't always know the company culture before you interview. It is hard to believe that a company wouldn't hire somone because they played it safe and showed up in a suit, even though it wasn't a daily requirement for a job (i.e. casual dress policy).

My company is opening an office in San Diego and I asked the president if we could wear shorts and flip flops to work instead of our biz attire. I haven't received a response yet! I just think...when in Rome!!
