Are you going for sure, vip? I''ve already got the date in my blackberry (how dorky is that!), and I''ve already pestered DH to take the day off, but don''t know if that''ll happen. We''d like to travel sometime in August too, but don''t have solid dates yet, but I''d sure like to hit Intergem still. And hey, are you looking to get something, or just gonna browse?

I have the date in my iPhone too! Haha! Well, I was initially going since I was going to take my mom for her b-day, but now she''s not sure if she can take off work. I''ve been bugging the BF to go with me, but even if he doesn''t, I don''t mind if I go alone. I don''t really have anything in mind, although I would love to look at engagement ring settings and stones.

even if we can''t do a GTG, there''s always next time!

Ooooh, I didn''t know you were in the market for an ER - how fun!!! There are tons of semi-mounts, so it''s great to browse if you''re not sure what style you''d like. I''ve got a couple loose gemstones that I need settings for, so I might browse a little for those, but I also just like looking around. I usually come back with something I didn''t plan on getting - last time it was my gems by the yard necklace.

Is there a particular day you''re thinking of going? I was thinking about Friday - not as crowded (weekends get pretty crazy). I also like going on Friday because it gives me a couple days in case I need to return something. First time I ever went, I got a ruby band, and that night, one of the rubies fell out.

that''s exactly why i want to go! BF is saving up and researching for a stone, and wants to know what kind of setting i want. unfortunately, i''m totally clueless at the moment. i mean it''s great to see pics online, but i really need to see them IRL and try them on you know? i also love to look around and get lost amongst the many booths at the gem show! i''m totally with you on getting something you didn''t plan on. it''s like going to Target...it''s so evil!

i was planning on going on Saturday, but now that you mention being able to return stuff (i can''t believe your ruby fell out!), i would rather go on Friday now. my mom even mention that she couldn''t go on Saturday since it''s the busiest day at work for her (she owns a little jewelry shop). i''m hoping Friday will work since i really want her there for several reasons: 1 - it''s her birthday. 2 - i really value my mom''s taste and opinions, and i can''t imagine looking at settings w/o her. she''d feel so left out considering she harbored my love for jewelry in the first place! 3 - she could get us in the wholesale section with her license!

i''ll have to look into rearranging my work schedule to get Friday off now...
