My nephew (he is now 6) was quite fascinated with the President when he was almost 2 years old. Whenever he was on tv, my nephew would always stop what he was doing and watch. We were on vacation together when Ronald Reagan died - and the memorial was televised. The President was speaking and Garrett was glued to the tv set. I asked, "Who is that?" He replied, "George Bush". I said, "who is George Bush?" and his response was, "the President". Fast forward a month, and the president was making a visit to Garrett''s hometown. My brother thought it would be great to take Garrett, so that he could see him in person. While they were waiting for the President to address the audience, my brother struck up a conversation with one of the Secret Servicemen. Of course the Secret Serviceman thought Garrett was cute and started asking him some questions. My brother thought he would show off just how adorably smart his 2 year old was, so he asked Garrett (in front of the Secret Serviceman) who the President is. Garrett''s reply was . . . "Jimmy Buffett."
A year later he told me that our family doesn''t celebrate Hannukah because we are not British.
