Everything Karen listed above is true. Until this country changes it views on guns nothing will change. I gave up all hope when nothing changed after Sandy Hook. Ruby, The party you support repeats over and over it's their right to have guns. If they had their way every person would be walking around with a gun at all times. This countries obsession with fire arms is ridiculous. And we wonder why other countries think we are crazy. Its because we are crazy!

Guns and ammunition are legal to bring to an airport. Is anyone really surprised this type of shooting happened. I'm more surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Obama has been President for the last 8 years, and look at how many mass and police shootings we have had under him.

Restricting legal gun ownership does nothing to prevent the criminals and insane from getting their hands on them. What we need is a better system like that in the article. Licenses that have to be renewed every 3 years to make sure the person in possession of a gun is still capable of owning one.

And erring on the side of caution that when there is a situation where a person acts unstable, 3 doctors need to determine if and when that crisis is over before he is allowed to own one again.

Apparently the shooter assaulted his girl friend one month before he got his gun back.

Obama tried to have legislation passed to stop gun violence after Sandy Hook. Do you remember? The NRA funded Republicans rendered his task force impotent.

Stop blaming Obama for this nation's gun violence. He tried, the people you vote for keep it alive. You'll see, Trump and the republican congress will actually lift what little safety measures we have in place. The NRA expects it. So do the republican voters. Trump JR is trying to get silencers legalized as we speak. His reasons being that it is more comfortable to learn to shoot and "you can get the kids in on it." There are earplugs for that...specialized ones where you can hear everything around you but they dull the sound of gunfire, why do we need silencers?

This will be a new day for gun violence.

I'm sick to death of hearing that taking guns away from unfit persons does nothing because they will get more. Something is wrong with this equation! If you've had your gun taken away for any amount of time with cause, maybe you should lose your right to having a gun at all. What would that hurt? As long as we the NRA and Republicans are fighting Gun Control nothing will change. They go on and on about their rights to have a weapon, What about the person who was shot walking to a store, what about the child who is shot sitting in his car seat. Do they not also have rights? This country is insane when it comes to guns.

Ruby, I cannot believe you want to blame Obama for the US not having stricter gun laws. Did you not watch or read anything the days and weeks following the Sandy Hook shootings?
