Wedding Freebies from hotels, restaurants, etc.

If you''re married, did the hotel and/or restaurants you visited on your honeymoon give you and your new hubby any freebies? I''m asking only because when I called the hotel we''re staying at on our honeymoon to confirm our reservation, they made note of why we were staying there. The same thing happened when I called the Chateau Frontenac to book brunch the last day of our stay in QC.

We''d happily accept something if it came our way, but I''m not expecting anything. It would be a lovely surprise though. I''m just wondering if this has happened to you or someone you know.

I used to work for a worldwide hotel company and they routinely surprise newlyweds and anniversary guests with freebies. Some of the amenities are merely discounts on spa packages, but they usually always have champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and/or fruit and cheese platter with a card upon your arrival.

If other hotels don't do that type of customer service gesture, that would be disappointing.

Nope

. The hotel we stayed at the night of our wedding asked if it was a special occasion when I booked and I told them it was our wedding night, but they didnt'' do anything. I was still wearing my dress when we showed up so there was no mistaking where we came from!

We went to Sandals for our honeymoon and EVERYONE there was on their honeymoon it seemed so no special treatment there either.

No. Not for either wedding, or our first two anniversaries. We haven''t made a huge deal out of it, but the hotels usually know.

Our wedding is at the hotel, and so we get a ''free'' suite that night (for the price of a wedding SOMETHING should be free right!?) and they will have champagne, strawberries, etc waiting for us... I can''t wait!

Then we are staying at Sandals in Whitehouse Jamaica and they too have a free honeymoon package with breakfast in bed one day, and champage in your room the first day.

Our minister told us to bring a copy of our marriage license with us and to flash it at anyone and everyone so we could get free stuff. Hey - it''s worth a try!
