Noticed the other thread about Summer Fragrances. I do agree with Lorelei that the market is swamped with watered down formulation of scents which last for 2 hrs max ; so yes, a pox on the people behind such blatant profiteering strategy!!

And a guy could certainly use some help here. Currently my fiancee likes Intenso from Ermenegildo Zegna and Unforgivable by Sean John.
But I''m curious, what scent would you pick for your guy?

I particularly like Caron Pour Homme, its very unusual, it starts off like a sharp lavender then dries down into a masculine spicy vanilla and it is very reasonably priced.

I also like Ralph Lauren Polo in the green bottle, that one seems to have survived relatively unscathed through the years, still smells as it should to me, maybe a little less rich but still good.

I love Sung Homme. My dh has been wearing it for years and I love it.

My boyfriend wears Armani Code. I love it. To me it''s the perfect amount of musky and spicy. Yum.

Scents I love on DH:

Vera Wang
Kenneth Cole Black (our cat, Electra, goes nuts over this one)
Bond No 9 Wall Street
Bond No 9 Saks for Him

My DH doesn't like strong perfumey cologne, but he starting wearing "Burt's Bees" cologne about a year ago...it smells VERY nice and is not overwhelming...it has a citrussy, clean scent, it's made from natural ingredients and it lasts all day...I love it. Sometimes simple is best!

Acqua Di Parma Colonia Assoluta

Rocabar by Hermes

I LOVE the first one - especially since I can then steal it for myself...

All of the Dolce & Gabana (sp?) = HOTNESS!!!!!!!

Hubby wears Cool Water....gets me every time!

My man wears D&G Light Blue! OMG, it drives me crazy!! I just wanna jump him everytime he wears it. It''s dangerous. He drives our car and I get into after him, and can smell it on the seatbelt, I swear I can''t concentrate on the road. And, he knows it. I swear he puts extra on when he''s feeling naughty

My dh has that one too! It''s his alternate when he wants something different. I love the Armani as well, but the Sung Homme was what he wore when we first started dating and there''s just something about that scent... Memories, I''m sure!

Ralph Lauren Polo Black or Romance
Very Sexy for Men - by Victoria's Secret (there are two, don't remember which one)
Issey Miyaki

Honey22 - I seriously think D&G sneaked in Pheromones and didn''t bother to tell anyone!

Bvlgari Aqua

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for men

Ralph Lauren Polo Blue. I love it. He has a few more that I like, but that''s my favourite. When I went home for the summers in college, he''d give me his favourite sweatshirt to wear when I missed him. He''d load up on cologne for a day or two and wear it so that it smelled like him.

It was so nice to snuggle into when I missed him and have it smell just right.

Jean Paul Guettlier... le male

the bottle looks as ridiculous as the name but
OMG that smell is so spicy and so effin sexy on a man!

LOL!!

I like a guy (meaning hubby) who''s intelligent. With intelligence and some common sense and hard work, success will come naturally.

To answer the original Q, I like scents that are natural, clean and not too heavy. However, I''ve found that most perfumes or colognes smell totally differently on different people. My best friend and I, for a while, wore Chanel no 5 and she smelled totally different from me. On her, it smelled really fresh and clean and light; and on me, it smelled more powdery - so it smelled nice on both of us, but just different. Her husband also always smells really fresh. He tends to wear a cologned called ROUGE by Guerlain (if I remember correctly). I''m sure it''ll smell totally on my husband. As my husband is an athlete (or at least tries to be in his spare time, LOL) and tends to perspire a lot, I''d rather he showered a lot (which he does) and uses deodorant. A small splash of some light cologne, anything fresh and clean, like a light sunny spring day, would suffice.

One thing I don''t like is when people use really heavy perfume or lots of perfume to mask their natural BO. i''d rather a person smells and is clean and fresh anytime!

Same here! I picked it out for him a few years ago and he loved it.

Emporio Armani - can''t remember the name but I think it had "He" in it... its a gray titanium bottle looking one.

I''m not much help, because I prefer how he normally smells (with the addition of some aftershave and deoderant).

My SO wears the original formula by Perry Ellis *swoon*...it smells perfect on him.
