A few weeks back Kaleigh posted about the Hit and Run of a 13 year old boy riding his bike in the Bryn Mawr PA area .

Well it was on the news today that a tip lead them to the driver..... are you ready for this ??

A 75 year old women driving a SAAB or some other type of Mini SUV - station wagon type.

She thought " she hit a deer ".... Witnesses said she slowed down but did not stop

It looked like the poor boy went right through the windshield. There was a large hole on the entire passengers side. She had to
know it was a person..!!

She had the car in her garage.. hiding there since the accident.

The good news is the boy is making a good recovery so far. I believe he has been released from the hospital. He might be in a rehab.

WHAT?!!!!

That is absolutely horrible! I''m glad the boy will be ok. Any idea what will happen to the old woman? I live in Florida and we have a lot of senior citizens driving around. She may or may not have known she hit a child depending on her own health.

I am glad to hear the boy is making a recovery!

I think she had to know as it appeared the boy must of been on the hood of her car. It was mid day, no deers out at that time.

It was also on the news so she was aware of what had happened.

Why else would she have the car in the garage and not putting in an insurance claim so it could be
repaired..? Everything points to her being fully aware of what she did.

Here is the car....

I hope there is good taxi or bus service in the area because I would hope she won''t be driving again.

Glad the boy is ok.

Even if she ACTUALLY did think she hit a deer (which I can''t say I believe to begin with especially if the boy hit the windshield), why wouldn''t she stop anyway?

My grandmother hit a deer once in the middle of the day - it ran right out into the road in front of her - and she stopped and called someone for help. She didn''t know what she was supposed to do, her car was damaged, she didn''t know if the deer was hurt or in the middle of the road, and she wanted to make sure the deer was ok and get help for it if it needed help!

I wonder what will happen to this woman. The fact that she has been hiding the car in her garage since the accident leads me to believe she DID know she did something wrong. I''m glad the boy is doing better though - hopefully he will continue to make a full recovery.

Sorry... this is the car she was hiding in her garage.

Awful... the police are putting the case together and will be charging her tomorrow. There is no excuse for what she did

I believe they are saying it could be attempted manslaughter, leaving the scene of the crime.. hit and run etc .

She was driving a truck since then to get around, and living in a million dollar home?????????????

Does she have any compassion, or a heart?? I hope she offers to pay this boy''s family for his past , present, and future medical bills...And a generous donation for his care.

I live in FL too and we have constant reports of drivers (usually the elderly) that hit the wrong peddle and
end up in the front of a store or house. My MIL (80 years old) has had 2 accidents within a year. Luckily
no one injured (well, except the car)! She just has bad judgement and driving makes her nervous. I
wonder when her husband is going to take the keys away.

I truely think there are some old people who dont know what they hit (in other words they shouldnt
be out there driving) but that women was hiding the car. She knew what she did.

Yeah... I suspect she knew it. Not sure we''re dealing with a rational person though.

Was she going to hide the car in the garage forever?

She would need to either drive the car or get it towed for repair. That would certainly attract attention... especially since it must have been on the news and in the papers what kind of vehicle they were looking for.

Say she drove it at night and dropped the key off at a body shop. Certainly it was obvious a head went through the windshield. That would raise alarms.

I''d imagine she was scared but the only possible good outcome would have been to come clean.

Remember, this women slowed down, had to know she hit someone since he went right though the windshield ,took off and hid the car...

I don''t think her age should be an excuse . She knew how to "cover her tracks" and then say she did not watch the news for several weeks?????????? I wonder where she got this other vehicle she was using in the mean time ?

She wasn''t devistated enought to stop driving..

Grrrrr to this woman, but I''m glad they found her. I hope she pays for that she did to that poor boy.

Oh my... Did they take her license from her? How can you mistake a human for a deer?!?

Especially if it was on a bike! Have you ever seen a deer trying to put spandex bike clothes on???

Take her license away...?? I think she is going to get a lot worse, like jail time.

She was obviously aware of what she did. Her actions since the accident prove so. I really hope that she has to face the consequences of this and doens''t just get off with a slap on the wrist.

Ever since the automobile was invented every hit and run driver has said "I thought I hit a deer". It reminds me of when kids say "The dog ate my homework".
Do they really think anyone believes a word of it?

I hope the old sow rots in prison.

This is just awful. If she had just called for help when she hit the poor kid she probably wouldn't be facing jail time.

Now I hope she actually gets it. Purposely hiding the weapon. . . . Ugh, I'm so freakin' angry about this!!!

This whole thing is disgusting! I cannot believe that this even happened. She should face jail time and a good bit of it too. Her license should be take away forever. After seeing the car I would have been so shaken up that even if I thought it had been a squirrel I would have stopped to get my composure. It is just absurd. And I know that had I been driving I would have looked in my rearview mirror to see what it was. She would have seen that it was a child, not an animal!

I have no words for her.. She knew what she did, she hid the car for 2 weeks!!!

THEN, I got an email from my dad, sayiing she's a friend of my mother's that they had dinner a while back she's a great lady , what a shame...

I was like what a shame??

I told him it's a shame she didn't stop,it's a shame she hid the car for weeks, it's a shame she didn't turn herself in.

It's a shame he lay in a pool of blood left to die...

Yeah it's a shame, and hope she gets put away for a long time.

I am glad someone told the cops about her car, she was hiding it in the garage and was driving a truck...

Dad didn't respond to my email. Wise choice on his part... GRRRRR.

I''m at a loss for words..

I hope she gets what she deserves.
