Found a tiny kitty

Found a tiny little half-wild kitten in my yard today. She looks like she lost her mommy - she''s really dirty and bedraggled, and she wouldn''t let us get near her at first. My husband finally picked her up and she was fine, just looked afraid. We gave her some food and she all but inhaled it, growling and talking the whole time. Now she''s in the spare bedroom, crying her little head off.

We can''t have any more kitties, so I am trying to find someone to take her. (I think it''s a female - I haven''t checked because she''s so scared.) My kitty, Cleo, is interested in her but hisses if the baby comes directly at her, and I am pretty sure the baby thinks Cleo is her mama, because every time Cleo comes around her, she runs out and tries to cuddle with her. And Cleo runs away, all freaked out. Poor little kitty

I''m in NM, but if anyone wants her, let me know.

Oh that dear little soul.....Thanks so much for taking her in MP, is there anyway you can keep her? Cleo will get used to her very quickly, kittens are usually accepted easily by adults in a little time.

She is adopted! I am taking her this afternoon to meet the girl and give her a good home. I am so excited!

If you really can''t keep her maybe offer to foster her for a shelter? Most shelters are just limited by space but if you offer to house her until they find a home for her they might be more willing to help you get her adopted (and pay for vet visits and such)Kittens adopt out pretty fast (especially right now since its coming to the end of "kitten season") so I doubt you''d even have to house her for that long. Just an idea, that''s what I suggested to a neighbor who found a whole litter of kittens in her window sill.
