What do you do to fix a terrible day? I usually try to put on some good music and maybe do something good for myself. If the sun is out, I make myself spend some time in it. I get hugs and kisses from anyone who will give them to me (except for creepy strangers.)

When all else fails, I hide under the covers and tell myself that tomorrow will be better.

I would love to hear what everyone else does. As you can see, I don't have many ideas.

Sugar always does it for me! ;)

A nap makes everything better. Equally as good, a long hot shower, some pretty scented body wash doesn't hurt either. When all else fails.....chocolate.

I always want to be by myself to fume and get it out of my system...a shower, as mentioned above, helps to drain it out of me.
Mostly I just need alone time (something my family doesnt always understand :? ).

Something good for dinner that is take out!

If it's summer, I like to sit out on the back porch with a drink.

If it's winter, I put on a sad movie and use that as my excuse to cry my eyes out. Sometimes I just need to get it out lol. Sometimes I do this in the summer too!

eta - Also, if it's not TOO terrible of a day (not a cry your eyes out bad) sometimes doing something nice for someone else makes me feel better. H likes a clean house, and I hate cleaning. So sometimes after a bad day I'll go home and clean, knowing how happy HE will be when he gets home lol. If I cant make myself happy, make someone else.

Sex or wine. Sometimes both.

This Is hysterical. I'm not to thrilled that the hot chocolate I was drinking went up my nose. You are too funny Stephanie!

Take a walk outside. Fresh air and endorphins baby!

Cuddling with my kitties. Hearing and feeling them purring makes me feel better.
Working out to some great music.
Just being able to have a chat with one of my close girlfriends.
Hugging my dh and telling him why I am sad and having him just listen.
Hanging out with my dh and fur babies watching old classic movies or listening to good music or reading quietly.
Listening to some of my favorite blues/jazz singers/artists for some reason cheers me up. Those sad songs just make me feel brighter. Weird I know. Billie Holiday, Chet Baker, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Etta James, etc.
Taking a long walk outside breathing the fresh sweet air.

And when all else fails or in addition having a good cry as a cathartic release. Usually makes me feel better.

Callie, that sounds painful! No hot chocolate during sex! :wavey:

We'll hold on, are we talking about the chocolate that comes with a brush that you heat up in the microwave for sexy times? Then it's a go, otherwise no.

Okay I'm done now :D

Sorry about the hot chocolate Callie!

Chocolate, and a long hot shower away from the rest of the family to de-stress.

There's a reason why I have THREE dogs. :)) When all else fails, I have 3 dependents to look after 24/7 with the bonus being they are all cute and affectionate. When I'm alone, I will put on Netflix and watch something light. All 3 dogs will gravitate to my chair with me.

Talk about fixing a bad day.......

I pet my 2 dogs, hug my husband, and exercise. I try not to use exercise as a coping mechanism (I've done that before), so I try other things like mindfulness as well.

I come here and find conversations including banana hammocks, nut huggers, chocolate body paint, and other such things that are usually great for a laugh (no drinking hot chocolate or wine while reading... ) and sometimes lead to interesting things I never knew or great searches that lead to more laughter.

(NSFW, but Google men's underwear elephant some time for a great one!)

A long walk. Opening my windows and listening to the fountain water flow, so soothing. Listening to my favorite music.

Love taking a hot shower as it's a great place to cry it out if needed. Sometimes a workout to completely be immersed and focus on something different. Hugs from husband. Yes to chocolates too!

I struggle with this and often just turn in early. Calling an end to the day is sometimes the only solution. If I tell DH I've had a particular bad day he usually comes back with, "Well I could take care of that!" But honestly, that's the last thing I want when I've had a really rough one.

Depends on that made it so terrible. If he was the cause sex is off the table....lol

Not popular, but I go shoot targets. When I can't shoot, I go to the beach when I can with the puppy. When I can't do that, art. Art is always good.

Any season except winter I'll go walk/run the beach. It's impossible for me to stay in a bad mood looking at the beautiful scenery & sunset. Winter it's harder... I'll hug my so and the cats & do chores to burn off bad energy. Every once in a great while I'll just go to bed early and call it what it was - a bad day.

Run hard for an hour. Works every time. The day is the same. I just look at it differently.

I bought a cheap lounger (35.00 on ebay) and go out for ten minutes a day for sunshine and vitamin D. Of course today was in the 40s so that didn't happen. I find ten minutes makes such a difference in my day.

Otherwise it is a day like today where it's sleep in and hope tomorrow is better....

I'm behind on Nexflix: just finished "The Fall". I want Stella's wardrobe.

Run, then wine, then Dr Mario because then I can pretend I'm 7 again.

Tea or coffee with cookies. Dunking said cookies in the hot tea or coffee.
Snuggling or even just petting my furbabies.
Hugging my DH, or sometimes just even looking at him.
Sitting on the couch watching endless episodes of Snapped, 48 Hours, Vanity Fair Confidential, etc.
Putting on really cozy clothes and socks that keep me warm.
