I've often noticed these types of OEC five stones on eBay UK, but don't think I've ever seen one here on PS or in an antique shop. Curious why I haven't seen one here. I'm always tempted to get one, but for one reason or another, I never do. I don't wear yellow gold, typically, and I wonder whether I would find the stones too small . . . Anyone here have one?

You may be referring to Laila619.

edit: double oops to your oops that you answered your own question.

If you search under my old user name of glitterkitty (couldn't remember my old log in details) you should be able to find a picture of the one I used to have. Traded it for an oec solitaire that I set in a pendant instead. Still miss it :((

GK2 - Oh, thank you! I love your ring! Sounds like you found it at a local shop. Lucky find! I'll post the thread here https://www.pricescope.com/communit...ctorian-ring.48342/page-2#post-715326#p715326 so you can go down memory lane. I bet your OEC pendant is stunning. I'll have to look to see if you posted photos of it, too. :wavey:

Addy and Ruby - Thanks, I know Laila's ring. It's a beauty!

These five stones seem different. I was hoping someone would know more about them. I think there's a specific name for them, but don't recall. I will have to do some more searching on ebay too.

Been trying to post this response all day but my work network was too slow!

I am in the process of building a graduated 5-stone ring with antique stones. I got 3 stones from Uppy, 1 from eBay, and 1 from Joe Escobar. Been working on this since the spring and I can't wait!

The stones are not 100% perfectly matched in color but I think that if I set it in a warm metal some of the differences will be more subtle. The photos below definitely exagerate the color difference. The last stone I bought is more round than the others but I think once its in a shared prong setting and with its mate on the other side of the key stone set in the correct direction, it won't be very noticeable. At least not so much that i'll bother me. They're antiques, afterall, and not H&A RBs.

I plan to set it in a trellis mounting and I really hope its on my hand come my 30th birthday in early March!

The total weight will be 2 carats. The stones are 5.25x5.25 mm, 4x4 mm, and 3x3 mm.

Beautiful stones, Clairitek. What a great idea to collect the stones and make your own ring! Can't wait to see the finished product! :wavey:

ETA: That center stone is a real firecracker! :appl: So lively. Lucky you!
