So I really thought I was going to make it through the whole LIW period without incident, but well....I....uh, I....
I bought a wedding dress.

Let me explain!
A few days ago, my sister sent me a link to the Monique Lhuillier sample sale in Los Angeles. The ad indicated that the gowns would be discounted at up to 90% off! The veteran bargain shopper in me wrestled with the sensible, rational me and the shopper won out (she''s a scrappy one). I decided to go, but I didn''t REALLY expect to find a dress. I kind of wanted to go just for the fun of it, but if I saw something I REALLY had to have at a great price, then I would consider buying.
Guess what happened.
I found the Monique Lhuillier dress of my dreams! It''s a dress that I have been lusting after for quite some time, at least a year. However, it was from several seasons ago and no longer in production and so I had been stalking ebay and preownedweddingdresses to see if it would pop up in my size, because I knew that would be the only way I could get my hands on it. Since it has been out of production for so long (it was from the Fall 2006 collection) I sort of had resigned myself to never being able to have that dress, but it was the ONE dress I kept going back to over and over again, wistfully gazing at its pixelated splendor on the internets. Imagine my feelings when I saw it at the sale! My heart just about stopped. Not only was it 80% off, but it was in my size, no alterations needed. I really had no choice but to hand over my Visa and embrace my status as a crazy LIW.
The good news is (other than finding the longed for dress of my dreams, of course), the bf is totally on board with the purchase! In fact, he drove me by the sale site at 10 pm the night before the sale just so I could see if a line had formed yet, haha. LOVE HIM! I asked him if he thought it was crazy that I was getting a wedding dress before I was actually engaged and he said, "Honey, we ARE engaged!" *tear* He is awesome. <3
So that''s my first, and hopefully only, crazy action as a LIW. Although my sister has been at me to book the church for my tentative wedding date because that particular church is very "popular" - oh dear...
