Hi Sarah!!

Thank you!

No that''s my brother''s puppy. He''s so cute and so tiny. His name is Hayden and he''s a maltese/poodle mix (maltipoo LOL). In the picture he''s 4 months old. I think he''s probably 5 months now.

My mom bought him a little pumpkin Halloween outfit. I can''t wait till he puts it on LOL

Hi fieryred33143

Sorry to highjack the thread, but I know you are a So Fla BWW so I was wondering if you had picked a venue and date yet. My family is all down in Broward and I think we might have the wedding down there, so I was just hoping we can trade tips/tricks.

Thanks!

Hi DCGator

We have a lot of South Florida people on

We haven''t picked a venue yet but we have seen a lot of places and I have a ton of packages. So if you come across something you like, let me know!!

In Broward I can tell you that I think its a little more expensive than in Miami. The majority of places to choose from are hotels but they are definitely beautiful hotels!

We''re actually going to Signature Grand which is one of the nicer banquet halls/ballrooms in Broward. I''ll tell you all about it on Monday!

Thanks for the response!

I actually thought about the Signature Grand, but decided against it, only b/c we will have a lot of out-of-town guests and want to do a hotel, so that we can cut down on the traveling for everyone/paying for buses, etc. However, I drive by it all the time, as I live near that area, and it looks really pretty. One word of advice though. Unless you want to have multiple vendor calling you directly, tell them not to give you info out. They never really said anything to me about it, but I have had about 5 vendors call me, and they said they got my info from them

For now, we are looking at the Marriott Harbour Beach, the Diplomat, and the W in Fort Lauderdale. The W is not finished yet (it will be done in January), but because of that, we may have a bit more flexability. Do you have any hotel recomendations in Miami/Dade on the beach? If you do, I would love the input.

Thanks for all your help and I am interested to hear about the Signature Grand (just in case

Hi DCGator.

We did go see Signature Grand on Saturday (didn''t know about the vendor thing

). It''s beautiful inside. It literally took my breath away when we entered because I was not expecting it to be that beautiful. As for the hotel, they have a running promotion with Comfort Suites (about 2 miles away) that gives a discount to guests and provides a free shuttle from the hotel to the facility...just as an FYI.

The Diplomat is so beautiful!! My FI and I hang out in that area all the time. When I used to live in Kendall and would meet up with him in Hallandale, we would hang out on that beach. Lots of good memories there.

As for hotel recommendations in Miami, I would definitely look into Double Tree Biscayne Bay. Their prices are very affordable and although not on the beatch it provides a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay. I''ll attach some photos they sent over to me.

The prices for the rooms are not that expensive either (if they have AAA, even better).

Dinner is between $70 to $100pp. It includes a four open bar reception with a cocktail hour, champagne toast, three course meal, custom designed cake, house wine with dinner, all floor length linen in ivory or white, and napkin/chair covers with accent.

If you have a minimum of 100 adults you also get a complimentary luxury suite and breakfast for two with a bottle of champagne and strawberries. Discounted rooms are availalbe with a minimum of 10 rooms.

Their lunch package starts at $48pp.

Wow, that is REALLY pretty indeed and the prices are very nice too, probably the best I have heard of. However, we are going to be sticklers about the beach b/c pretty much 60% are going to travel and we know how expensive it will be for everyone, so we want to make this as much about them having a vacation too, so they don''t feel so bad about spending the money.

That being said, we could have people stay at a hotel on the beach and then they can shuttle to the Signature Grand. Is it really that nice, b/c I have their prices and they weren''t so bad either. With an expected 125+ people, prices may be the breaking factor...

Thanks for helping with my research, lol. Just curious, what date are you shooting for? Was I correct when I read somewhere that you were doing an 80 person wedding?

Yeah the only bad thing about Signature Grand is that while it is right by 595, there aren''t really any beaches nearby. We are looking into October 2009 or November 2009. We know we want a "winter" date (even though we don''t get a winter here
20.gif
) but we''re a little nervous about October because of hurricane season.

We really only want 60 guests to be honest. At Signature Grand you get half of a room if you have less than 75 people and we didn''t like the setup. It felt like a conference room. When its a full room, its beautiful.

Anyway, our list right now is 119. We''re anticipating only about 80 and hoping for 60. Our first batch of invites would be to 93 (all family and close friends) and depending on the response we''ll see if we invite the other 26 (coworkers and not so close friends).

I have information on other hotels around Fort Lauderdale Beach including The Atlantic, Bahia Mar, Hollywood Beach Marriot, and Renaissance. I also have info on Seminole Hard Rock and Bonaventure Country Club. Those two aren''t by the beach but Seminole is a lot of fun and Bonaventure has very good prices.

The Atlantic: $90 to $114pp for dinner, doesn''t include alcohol

Bahia Mar: $94-$115pp for dinner including alcohol

Hollywood Beach Marriot: $110-$128pp for dinner including alcohol

Renaissance: $100-$135pp for dinner with alcohol

All of these places offer a lunch package and buffet. When we were considering, we would have gone with lunch because of the pricing. For some reason Miami is much more affordable which doesn''t make sense to me but whatever.

Omg, you are too sweet. Thanks for passing that info along. I am going to check out a couple of those places. We will have to start another thread soon to find all the So Fla LIW/BWW so we can get a giant So Fla wedding database

If you have any questions about the Harbour Beach Marriott, or the Diplomat, or the W, I have that info, just ask!

Thanks again,

Vanessa
