I had my first semi-sleepless night related to wedding stuff last night. Finally fell asleep at 6 AM

EW.

My skin has also been more irritated and breakout-prone lately. I have sensitive skin usually, but it''s been worse. Which sucks, because it had been improving--I switched to oil cleansing method about two months ago and enjoyed a month of calm, clear skin... then the irritation and breakouts started about a week ago. (To be fair, my definition of a breakout is currently 2 pimples, and one on its way out. It could be worse.)

Of course my immediate impulse is to switch my skincare regimen, which is an absolutely TERRIBLE idea 11 days from the wedding. It''s taking all my self control to not drive to my nearest sephora

Anyone else feeling the stress? How''s it manifesting for you?

Exfoliate!!!!

I am right there with you Musey. I have 3 new little pimples on my face - awesome. Also, some bug was in our bed on sunday night and I have 6 red bite marks on my arms. LOVELY. Yes, they will be gone by the wedding, but its still irritating.

I also feel like I might kick my FI in the head for no apparent reason. So, I guess that is how my stress is coming out, in a violent, non appropriate way...

Exfoliate!!!!
Exfoliation is my MIDDLE NAME!!!

Though I think that that is contributing to my sensitivity. I''m going to switch to a microfiber cloth to see if that helps.

I''ll crossing my fingers for your FI''s safety!!

Be careful with too much scrubbing. Could actually do more to irritate your skin. Instead, try drinking a TON of water every day. And if you can, wash your face mid-day with a gentle cleanser to remove the oils, and reapply any foundation/powder you may be wearing (I assume this will have to happen at work. Pain in the a$$ but I''ve made it work). And you might look into an oil-control lotion. Ernest Lazlo has a good one, available at Nordstrom.

Thanks, March

I'm actually on a strict skincare regimen already, which my agent's had me on since last December. I've gotten every dermatological lecture in the book! It's purely stress-induced, so really not a lot I can do about it (according to my esthetician, anyway!).

Though it didn't help that I had to wear MAC for a shoot last week... my skin does NOT like MAC!

I had two makeup trials on saturday - and so I feel your pain! Why does certain makeup DO that!?

My skin does not like MAC too, Musey!!

Lol, I am too excited to be tired though hehe

All last week I couldnt sleep! I eventually cured it by taking two Baileys on ice before bed.

I have terrible skin, very oily and acne since I was 13 (was on Accutane) and now that I am 28 I still get it. I have gone maybe..2 weeks or so (ever) without at least one pimple. Of course since I am a fair redhead, every little spot shows up.

I bought the Neutrogena "Wave" and it has actually really helped. I use it once a day, at night. My mom even complimented me on my skin a few weeks ago!

Speaking of skin, does anyone out there know of something to keep you from getting "shiney"? I mean, I get shiney within like an hour. I bought this MAC stuff called Matte you put on under make up..it works for a few hours and then the oil prevails.

I like smashbox photofinish primer. It is $$$ but not too bad, and so worth it.

Ohh I Love the Baileys on Ice to help sleep. Also, the Smashbox Primer is great... such a nice start for my makeup
I use Bare Minerals and it is so kind to my skin.. I was having problems with the Estee Lauder I was using.. Made my nose red

Do not exfoiliate or scrub.. makes it worse.

I have also had trouble sleeping... and seem to be eatting more..
I thought I would not be able to eat from nerves.

Does anyone else get "hurt" and upset when you get a We can not attend response RSVP ?

I got one yesterday from someone I thought would be so happy to attend.. and I was not able to sleep too well because of it..

Bootsiekin, I was on Accutane twice, so I feel your pain. I''m 20 years older than you and STILL have super oily skin and get breakouts during that time of the month. I have been on a MAJOR search for the right combo of products to use for wedding day makeup. Here''s what I''ve come up with:

Oil-control lotion: Heavy controlling lotion by Ernest Lazlo (hard to find, available at Nordstroms and Nordstroms.com)
Foundation: Virtual Matte by Prescriptives (they color match, and this is actually an oil absorbing foundation).
Powder: Loose translucent powder by Ernest Lazlo
Oil-blotting sheets: by Clean & Clear (available at most drugstores)
Anti-shine lotion: Smashbox Anti-Shine/Anti-Briliance lotion in neutral (available at Sephora, Nordstrom, and probably other places).

I use the oil control lotion, foundation and powder daily for work. During the day I use the oil blotting sheets periodically, as well as the anti-shine lotion and sometimes a bit more translucent powder.

I still get oily. But this has helped a LOT.

Clinique supposedly has come out with a new formulation of foundation that is oil free and is guaranteed to look fresh all day or your money back. Haven''t tried it yet, but I probably will at some point before the wedding.

GOOD LUCK!

Ditto, have done for a couple of years. I thought I''d use MAC but after my e-pics my skin freaked!

marchswallowbird- thank you so much! I am going to write down your list and get as many as possible. I havent met too many others who have been on Accutane. I wasn''t even on the best dosage because it made my triglycerides go up too high. It really was the only thing that worked for me. I have often wanted to see if I could go on again, but my school insurance doesnt cover dermatologist visits for acne.

thanks for everyone elses suggestions too, IWPO and crystalheart1 - I am going to look for the smashbox

crystalheart1 - I also get sad and upset when I get "regrets" RSVPs. I start reading into it and wondering if the person doesn''t like me and I rack my brain for something I may have done to make them not come.

I''m in the same boat as a few of you regarding the skin. I''m getting really anxious about pictures next week because I still have many, many dark spots on my skin from a really bad spell of breakouts this past summer. I''m trying not to stress myself out and hope that things will fade a little more by next Thursday. And I''m praying my MUA does a good job without making it look like I''ve got too much makeup caked on.

Good luck to everyone!
