So today was the day I tracked down all my MIA stuff.

My favorite shampoo has been discontinued by the maker. No, the seller didn't think to let me know this.
My little babbling brook water fountain for my office was returned to sender because for some reason they got Mississippi (not kidding) and CA mixed up. So I just asked for a refund.
And the rug I FINALLY found to match my new couch fabric that works well with everything in our living room has been discontinued.... even though I placed the order before it was discontinued.

So... I've got a couple hundred bucks and I just want to feel like I am purchasing something and have it work out. What should I buy? Your call.

Kama, those pics were a huge help in helping me figure out what I want and what dimensions my space can handle. Thank you. Crate and Barrel actually had the PERFECT red table, but they discontinued it too.

Hi Sky, yeah it's a nice lamp.

My irrritation has worn off. Marginally, as I found a local retailer that had ONE bottle of my shampoo in stock.

The rug thing is just irritiating beyond all bounds, but I'm in denial.

Does anyone like that mirror? It's the only one I found that's kinda sunbursty and white, but the price is just so freaking high on it. It looks like it should be 70 bucks max.

I really don't understand WHY sun/starburst mirrors come with such a high price tag. What gives???

I have a beautiful massive antique style mirror that I saw being sold at 600$+. Found it at HomeSense for $70. I wonder if you have a store similar to HomeSense? It's a store that essentially gets unsold merchandise from a variety of retail stores and lists them at insanely low prices.

Yay on finding a red table and a last bottle of shampoo!

ETA: Is there a difference in the colours between the two tables you linked? I prefer the red-orange of the zigzag table, but it might just be my screen?

I'm glad that you were able to find something that you like. I know exactly how you feel - I just found my perfect jeans this week, only to find out that they have been discontinued. I was able to find a few pairs on clearance, so they were really cheap, but I don't know what I'll do when they're worn out. Apparently this fit is going completely out of style, because even the stores that I normally buy from (where they don't fit quite as well) have taken them off the shelves, too.

Oh, and I would be horrified if my favorite shampoo were discontinued. I know that it's bound to happen at some point, because I see beauty products being discontinued all the time. It's not even something that you can completely stock up on, because they go bad after a year or two.

Hi Kama, they are different shades of red. And I agree, I prefer the brighter shade as well.

Shitzu, Jeans are another one. Once you find the right pair it's like nails on a chalk board to find another pair that fit as well. Thanks for your empathy hon.

Okay, well 300 bucks for a red side table, having slept on it over night, was too much for me. So I opted for a nice side table from Target (free shipping and in store returns) that I can ask hubby to paint if I want to, but that matches our current entertainment center nicely.

Plus I got an inexpensive slipper chair for our bedroom. With the end table they both came to 200 bucks flat (including tax and shipping). I FEEL like i got a bargain.

The lamp is back ordered though. So I couldn't buy that (was my first choice).

And the rug is... now with a Horchow supervisor to see if she can find ONE for me. We'll see.

Karma, I have no idea why the stupid things are so pricey. But it is ridiculous isn't it? I'm off to see if Target or West Elm has anything more palatable.
