This is a take off from another post. Do you have a FB page for your pet? Do you think it's strange?

I started one for Dude a long time ago, but it was because I was playing FB games and needed more friends, but then it started to be really fun for me. Whenever he'd go spazzy I'd log into his account and post as him in all his spazzy wonderful'ness. It was fun. Now that he's gone, I post on his wall when I'm missing him. I'm glad I have it for that purpose alone.

Anywho - back to the orignial question - do you? Or do you think it's crazy?

I don't, but I think with my next pet I totally will. Otherwise I will spam my own wall with all the kitten adorable-ness.

I'm thinking of making one for Buddy because of that. My non-cat lover friends are getting a little annoyed.

I made a fan page for my kitty, Sir Boxen Whiskerplot, as opposed to a separate account with its own login. I think its cute, and then I don't have to post a bunch of cat stuff on my page, I can put it on his, so people who don't care don't have to read it!

My husband created a FB profile for Byron. I don't think Bo has one, though. It's no weird for us since we have conversations with our dogs daily--so having my dog send me a FB message every so often is par for the course. The only issue is that when Byron posts on other peoples' walls, it's usually to demand cookies, which can be embarrassing.

LOL! That's cute.

Haha! That made me smile!

I set one up for my cat after there were a couple deaths in my family and needed a distraction. Since then, I just check in every once in a while for fun. I love looking at all the cats!

I think it's a cute and fun escape from the daily grind. Also, with pet FB pages, it's ALL IN FUN. There is not drama or worry over "unfriending" people b/c we're all together for a common love of felines. I've kept all my cat's "friends" there and have joined groups that are for a good cause. Like for example, there is a black cat rescue group for black cats, because they're not adopted out as often as other kitties and I want to support that organization.

yeah, you don't want RL friends to know about clawing at the pantry door for more catnip :) lol

Oh, and my cat has entered some contests, too.

I made a FB page for both our dogs. After that, a couple of our friends and my sis-in-law made a FB page for their dogs and we made them all each others friends. In reality, these dogs do get along really well together. Obviously, it is for our own amusement. Nobody else thinks it is amusing or really cares.

I don't have a page for my cat, it seems like I should though. I do end up having a ton of what's on my page being just about him.

My friend has accounts for all 3 of her cats, and sometimes she posts on their walls cutesy stuff saying that she appreciates the purrs and cuddles or something. But lately with one cat it's been more along the lines of, "Please stop peeing on all of my stuff."

Hmm, I'm thinking I'll probably set one up for him tonight.

Chester has one. I actually set it up because DH wanted a FB page to play games without actually having a FB page himself. He posts what he thinks the dog is "saying" occassionally. It's pretty darn funny. Sometimes the dog gets friend requests from mutual friends before I do!

LOL! I can't even keep up with the two I already have! Cassie, Bella & Chloe will definitely *not* have their own FB page. They can have anything else they want, just not that. Mean Mommy..... :o

My cat has a FB page. She has quite the rivalry going with my sister's cat on FB.

Hilarious!

Dude was in an open relationship with my best friend's dog.

Otto has a "fan page". I originally started it as a way to post pictures for multiple friends to see, but he quickly had over 120 admirers (only 30 or so are friends of mine). I already thought it was weird that he had a page, but it's even weirder that people who don't know him post on his wall! haha

I just liked him, there's no way I can avoid opportunity for some bunny love!!

Yep, my husband made one for our dog. Sadly, I think he has more friends than I do.

I don't have a pet, but I'm a fan of both Sir Boxen Whiskerplot and Otto on Facebook.

...that's not weird...right? :errrr:

My cousin has a dog that "posts" hilarious status updates from time to time!

My cat pepper has a FB page too :) He'll occasionally drop by friends of ours pages to meow at them or other random cat things lol

Absolutely not...we just cannot expose Miss D. to any more publicity. As it is, she is followed by the pupparazzi CONSTANTLY, and we are to the point that we're worried about her privacy. Also, she's getting up in years (she's 4 now) and gosh, there are pics of her on everyone's computer we know since she was 8 weeks old. We think it's over-saturation at this point and won't help her career.

Currently, Miss D. chooses to wear disguises (in the form of sunglasses, an oversized collar/leash in unassuming colors, and a sweater in a very garish color/pattern) when she must appear in public. Her owners exercise the right to turn down autographs unless proper bribes in the form of dog treats are made. Note to fans: please understand that Miss D. wants to please each and every one of you, but simply grows weary after about 20 minutes unless treats and Red Bull are present. Also, she will not succomb to any bribes of a better home/better life/better parents as she is loyal to the core. Thank you!

You are so funny!! I won't have a FB for Charlie or Liza, either. I did find a huge Cavalier King Charles Spaniel community on FB. I received a friend request from a man in Italy. I was wary about it. I went to his page and he was a Cavalier. Since friending him, I have met Cavalier owners and breeders from all over the world. All of them know enough English to communicate with me--and so do their dogs!! I, sadly, do not know any language besides English. I have truly enjoyed getting to know this group of people. And, yes, some of the dogs have their own pages ;))

We don't have a FB page for our cat, but two of our friends each have a page for their dogs. I am friends with a guy who has a FB account for himself and another FB account for one of his three beagles. He and his dog post on each other's walls.
