In honor of valentine''s day, and those of us staying in, maybe dinner and a movie makes a good date night?

First that come to mind for me:
The Time Traveler''s Wife
Legends of the Fall
City of Angels

Shakespeare in Love

Feast of Love
A Lot like Love

I can''t always watch romantic movies but I tend to like ones that are not so corny, but more light-hearted.

Much as I like Nicholas Cage, City Of Angels is the saddest thing I''ve seen since Bambi.
But I love Moonstruck also with Nicholas Cage.

I''m not a fan of straight romantic movies.
There has to be a twist to make it interesting.

If you like your movies on the naughty horror sci fi side try
Tomcat Dangerous Desires with Richard Grieco.

An Affair to Remember

I can''t think of any others besides these two at the moment, but I know there are many more I love.

When Harry Met Sally
Sleepless in Seattle

The Notebook - bring the kleenex

heart breaking and beautiful, one of my all time favorites:

Bridges of Madison County

Sort of an action kind of romance with a historical flair:

Last of the Mohicans

An Affair to Remember
Omg, my list is way too long! I especially love Bette Davis and Cary Grant movies..

An Affair to Remember
His Girl Friday
The Philadelphia Story
Now Voyager
Jezebel
Sabrina
The Quiet Man
The Awful Truth
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The Shop Around the Corner
In the Good Old Summertime
White Christmas
Casablanca
To Have and Have Not
Adam's Rib
Roman Holiday
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Gone with the Wind
Singing in the Rain
Moonstruck

That's all I can think of right now lol!

Eta:
Pride and Prejudice (my favorite version is the one with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier)
Jane Eyre
Emma
Mansfield Park

Oh, there are so many!

Here''s what popped into my mind just now:

When a Man Loves a Woman
Something to Talk About
When Harry Met Sally
The Notebook
Sweet Home Alabama
Notting Hill
Tristan and Isolde (I have to admit--I may just love this because of all the James Franco eye candy it has.)

The Notebook. My favorite movie, period. And I don''t even like romantic movies. I saw it years after it came out and just happened to start watching it on TV. I went and bought the DVD that day

Say Anything. I *heart* that movie :)

Ooh, I forgot about When a Man When Loves a Woman and Say Anything!

I''m a sucker for pretty much any romantic movie out there (comedy or drama).

"The English Patient"
"Return to Me"
"Lost in Translation"
"Spanglish"
"How to Make an American Quilt"

Casablanca
The Philadelphia Story
Notorious
When Harry Met Sally
Notting Hill
And, because I cam of age in the 80s, Some Kind of Wonderful

Shakespeare in Love absolutely.

I recently saw The Time Traveler''s Wife and I''d have to add that one to the list as well.

Little Women too. I LOVE that movie!

Love Story...read the book first. I''ve seriously read it at least 50 times, know it be heart, and both movie and book will always make me cry.
Sleepless in Seattle...nuff said.
Love Actually...ummm...the whole move is redonk.

My two favorites are:
50 First dates
Serendipity

Walk the Line. Best proposal scene ever (last scene of movie).

Sin Nombre - an independent movie, they ran it in small movie theaters.
Man and Woman (French movie from the 60-es)
Cabiria Nights (Fellini)

All of them have English subtitres

You''ve Got Mail
Addicted to Love
Message In A Bottle

hmmm... a lot of the ones already mentioned.

I''ll throw in Ghost and Moulin Rouge (I love musicals, though). And Titanic (I love Leonardio DiCaprio, too!)

The A&E version of Pride and Prejudice
My Fair Lady
Gone with the Wind
The Way We Were
Dark Victory
Casablanca
Anna Karenina

I tend to love the heartbreaking unrequited type of love stories LOL

Meet Joe Black

The Notebook, Love Actually, Sleepless in Seattle, I know I''m forgetting some!

What Dreams May Come!

It's a serious tear jerker, but I LOVE this movie. It's incredibly cathartic, has great visuals, and sends such a strong message about family and soul mates! Haha, I tear up just thinking about it!

Seriously, if you've never seen it, I highly recommend it. Especially if you are a classics buff since they reference Dante's trilogy a lot.

I'm not usually a romantic movie type gal, but this is probably one of my favorite movies.

Oh, I also liked Shakespeare in Love as a romantic comedy.

I know it might not be incredibly "romantic" but I really love Knocked Up too. It''s not your typical love story.

Love Actually
Moulin Rouge

I'm not really a romantic movie person, but I really like both of those and can watch them again and again.

Oh, Pride & Prejudice and Emma as well - I think those would count as romances and I love them!

The African Queen
Wuthering Heights
Titanic
Bringing Up Baby
El Amor Brujo

Hope Floats
