Okay ladies, now that we''ve talked about skin care, what line of makeup or makeup products can you not live without. I certainly cannot live without MAC lipstick or concealer.

Anything CHANEL! NARS, their duo eye shadows, cream shadow, lip gloss, and nail polish.

ETA: My favorites from CHANEL are:
-Les 4 Ombres De Chanel, they have such pretty eye shadow combinations.
-Ombre D'eau, I love wearing it at night.
-Levres Scintillantes (lip gloss), a ton of pretty colors.
-Le Vernis nail polish, goreous colors!

I use:

1. Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser in the a.m.
2. Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser in the p.m.
3. Cetaphil moisturizer
4. MAC foundation, powder, eyeliner, eyeshadow and blush
5. Maybelline Full N Soft mascara
6. Chapstick brand chapstick or Burts Bees Bees Wax lip balm
7. Suave hair products

Sometimes I use a sheer foundation by Neutrogena depending on how my skin is doing - sometimes it''s too dry to use the MAC foundation that I love. I also use an astringent by Clean & Clear a few times a week, especially before my period, to prevent/treat breakouts. Neutrogena Body Clear body wash is my favorite - I love the way it smells too!

YSL Poudre Sur Mesure
It''s a ''loose'' powder that you mill yourself, and is so amazing for controlling oil and giving a soft-focus kind of finish.

Anna Sui purple loose powder that comes in a beautiful Anna Sui powder case.

I can''t live without my Clinique foundation. They are so light. I love them!

Napoleon Perdis pre-foundation. It makes make up application so much easier.

My Chanel EROTIC Glossimer....

Obviously I don''t have a favourite brand. I go with whatever works with my skin LOL

I love Smashbox Photo Finish (the pink one, not sure what''s so different than the clear one though), and BareMinerals makeup for my face. I hate feeling like I have a lot of makeup on, so this gives me a smooth and clear finish without that heavy makeup feeling.

I also love the C.O. Bigelow line of tinted lip glosses with menthol/moisturizers. They keep my lips from getting chapped in the winter and taste good.

Chanel double compact powder foundation is a staple for me.

Giorgio Armani foundation and lipsticks are my holy grail. No annoying fragrances, they look and feel amazing on your skin. Cargo blushes are hard to beat, great color, tons of product for the money. Guerlain Maxi lash is another holy grail. Stila is probably my favorite for eyeshadow, they go on like buttah.

As you can see, I''m not loyal to a particular brand but I AM loyal to my favorite products!

I look to chanel and ysl first for most products unless something else catches my eye.

so far with what I''ve tried, I''m really liking Bare Minerals because it is really light. I''m not particularly brand loyal though. If someone told me "ohmygosh you should really try this great brand! It feels light and silky, covers well but isn''t terrible for your skin, and has great colors!" I''d be up for trying it. I am in love with my C.O. Bigelow cinnamint lip gloss and my Maybelline Full and Soft Mascara.

as for skin care, I use cetaphil gentle cleanser both morning and night, the cetaphil lotion in the morning, and body shop tea tree oil night cream at night with a tea tree oil spot treatment. (I''m doing a research paper right now on tea tree oil for a class right now, so i got some products to test out since I''m focusing on its cosmetic application... I also have two different shampoos with tea tree oil, lol)

Nars and LORAC!

If I need to do a major under eye conceal or have an event or reason to look good I swear by Amazing Cosmetics under eye kit. Wow, love it.

For regular every day I use Clinique. My favorites of theirs are:
-High Definition Lashes Brush Then Comb Mascara
-Long Pretty Lashes Mascara
-Quick Corrector

I also swear by cherry flavored chapstick brand chapstick

I use Prescriptives Flawless Finish foundation and their blushes, eyeshadows, primer, sheer lipstick. And Estee Lauder will no longer be manufacturing Prescriptives as of the end of this year. I am

in tears. What am I going to use now?

I love Dior and Lancome lipsticks - they have the greatest colors and consistencies.

BareMinerals.

I have several, and will be trying several of the above.

- Mark by mark bronzing powder
- Mark by mark lip glosses
- Mark by mark liquid eyeliner
- Mary Kay mineral powder foundation
- Mary Kay black cream eyeliner
- Mary Kay Ultimate Waterproof Mascara (amazinnng)
- Mary Kay mineral eyeshadows
- Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow
- Almay has this really moist lipstick I use, I can''t think of the name at the moment, but it''s like putting rain on my lips.... so refreshing.

Most of my e/s is by either MAC or Stila.

I always wear lip gloss and my staple are the Chanel Glossimers. I have a bunch of them. The color lasts forever. I forget how much they are $26(?) and they are worth every dollar.

Mine are pretty low-end.

Rimmel black mascara and Cover Girl clear mascara (for controlling my brows.)
That''s all I usually wear out and about during the day.

Haven - I actually have some Rimmel eye shadows that I am in love with. One is this cool funky dalmation looking compact with little bits of silvery in it, and it gives my eyes the coolest smoky look. I love it.

I invested in the Bare Escentuals mineral make up for my wedding and I love how even my skin tone is while wearing it but I can still see my freckles. For mascara I use L''Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes. This stuff is bullet proof! I much prefer it over standard waterproof mascaras.

Purpose Cleanser and Clinique are all that I use as I get allergic reactions to estee lauder and lancome

products (however I can still use lacome perfume - my
fave)

Oh yes, forgot, I do use some MAC product (mascara and lip gloss
18.gif
) as well

I''ve been wearing Clinique for years. That''s all I wear because my skin has a tendency to be sensitive sometimes, and Clinique is hypoallergenic.

Soocool,

I am very upset that PX is being discontinued also. They have some great skin care products, and I love their mascara and lipglosses.

That being said, I don''t really have any brand loyalty. I have tried almost every lipgloss on the market, but I do always come back to MAC because I love the vanilla scent, and the stickiness of the gloss (their lipsticks too). I also love MAC eyeshadows, you just can''t beat the variety of shades.

I am also in love with Urban Decay''s Sin eyeshadow Primer Potion..this stuff is awesome! Your eyeshadow will NOT crease if you use this, I promise.

I also use various Shiseido products too....love their lipliner.

I also love Chanel''s tinted moisturizer, it goes on so smoothly, and looks divine....it''s just very $$$$.

What upsets me the most is that whenever I find something I really love they discontinue the color/shade, etc. So annoying! Why???

MAC....

The ladies here put me onto ID bare minerals a while ago, and I'm eternally grateful! I won't go back to regular liquid/compact makeup.
My skin has improved heaps, and it gives just the right natural look/coverage that I have always sought but is more difficult to achieve with traditional makeup.

I do mix those up though, with usually a Lancome bronzer, blusher & mascara, and eye shadows/pencils from MAC. I find MAC are the best for eye stuff and brushes, but don't really like their foundations etc.

I also need a good concealer as I'm prone to dark eyes (darn genetics!) - at the moment I am alternating between the sheer cover one (which is quite good), and a Laura Mercier one (which is better). When I can afford it I'll get YSL touche eclat for that area.

I have pretty much a mixed bag, literally, ha ha..

I know many people stand by MAC because of their good color pigment. Honestly, I hate MAC - I find their products really harsh. First of all, I am allergic to their lipsticks and their foundations feel very thick to me. As I mentioned in your other thread, I love my Lauress mineral makeup for foundation. For eye shadows, I find DreamWorld mineral eye makeup to have excellent pigment. Lipsticks - I am pretty flexible - anything that doesn''t have a smell.

I adore Laura Mercier and Nars products for face/eyes. I love Chanel and Bobbi Brown lipglosses too.

That's so sad about Prescriptives. I just heard the news. Maybe you can substitute something from Estee Lauder or Clinique for what you were using from Prescriptives. They are all made by the same company. From what I read, they'll be selling off the Prescriptives inventory on the internet for a while, but you can also get your favorites from the "Gone but Not Forgotten" website.

Thanks gemgirl. I bookmarked that website for the future. Back in August I got a 30% off email from Px and ordered a bunch of stuff. I also ordered a bunch of stuff that will hopefully last me a while.

I used to work across from the Estee Lauder facility in PA that packaged all the Lauder lines, like Clinique, Px, etc. and got great deals there in their company store (our company used to clear the street of snow during the winter and to reciprocate gave all the employees a pass to their company store).

Hi Charmy,
Have you tried the mineral foundation? They also make a mineral eyeshadow, but I have yet to use it. The mineral liquid foundation is very light, although the coverage is light as well. As for their lipstick, I think I could eat it, it's so thick rich and creamy. LOL!!

I'm noticing many companies are offerring mineral foundation in powder or liquid form. What do people think of mineral foundation in comparison to traditional foundation and other products (eyeshadows, powders)?
