In the other thread, we were talking about fake eyelashes vs. eyelash extensions. Somewhere along the thread it was discovered that there was an event at Shu Umeura tonight - complete with DJ, sushi, drinks and free fake eyelash application!

I got mine done...what do you ladies think..too much?

Last one! maybe too much for the wedding, but fun for a night out!

Sorry I didn''t see any PSers there!

Rocky, I think in photos they look great! But in real life are they too much? I cant tell because I''m looking at a photo only. Do they have slightly smaller lashes? If so, maybe that would be a nice compromise that will look natural in real life, and also enhance your eyes in photos? I wish I''d done that...!

my MOH got really awesome ones =) Don''t think she''ll mind posting since you can''t see her eyes...

Yeah, these were the freebies - they have a great selection, I''d probably do the individual ones where they put them on one at a time for precision...I did feel a bit like a drag queen the first time I looked in the mirror!

thumbs up!

I actually really like them... the MOH pic is a little over-the-top for my tastes, but fun for a night out.

I was thinking of doing the lash thing, but i don''t know anywher that does that great a job nearby....thanks for sharing!

I think they are a bit unnatural looking. The lashes are a little long/spiky, and the strip probably needs to be shortened.

I love them, but do they ''go'' with your wedding style? The may seem a bit long and weird now, but you have to think about what they would look like in pro pics with the hair and makeup.

I like them, but I''d go the individual lash route and do fewer of them.

They look great but not for your wedding, IMO. Personally, eyelashes extensions aren''t my thing...BFF had very bad experiences with them, and she had them done twice at two different locations in NYC (very reputable salons). However, fakes can look really great (and natural) if you get a more subtle set. Find some that are a little shorter and not so full...combine with a great make-up artist and you''ll look gorgeous. We did that for FSIL''s wedding and I still stare in awe at those photos...we looked like a bunch of movie stars!

Really long & full lashes just make you feel prettier, dont they?

I''ve never tried the individual ones. Do you think that works with "little" lashes? Or just best with thick lashes?

They look a bit long to me. Maybe you can trim them a bit so they look more natural. Other than that, I think they look great. I wear lashes for special evenings out/events and I always trim mine and cut about 1/3 off the inner part so they look more natural. Another option... Shu Uemura also has the individual lashes. I''ve used those (maybe 4 or 5 lashes on the outer third or half of each eye) and they look great! It''s more subtle.

Ooh...I really like them. I think as long as you filled in your eyebrows a teeny bit for balance, they''d be gorgeous for the wedding (IMO)
