Hi everyone -

So, I was working on our programs last night, and it was only after I started getting everyone''s names down that it occurred to me that (very nearly) everyone who is slated to say something at our wedding is male. I suppose I''m sensitized to this being as I speak at a lot of events / symposiums / conferences etc. professionally, and there are usually efforts made to ensure a gender balance. Is this a big deal?

Our first toast immediately after the ceremony will be made by my brother, our MC is a (male) friend of my FI, then we have a very limited program of speeches / toasts - my dad, FI''s dad, and then a toast to the bride (delivered by my bridesman - I have a MOH, a bridesmaid, and a bridesman), and a toast to the groom (delivered by his brother). FI and I both have brothers, no sisters, which is part of the issue.

I have asked a female friend of mine to say a prayer during the service, and have asked another to say a blessing before dinner.

Is this worth worrying about?

Thanks!
