Engraving question

This is kind of a weird question, but I was wondering if this might be engravable.

I bought it for my sister in law for Christmas. She recently married my fiance's brother at a whaling museum. She saw these and wanted to hand them out as favors, but they were too pricey for a 200 person wedding. I thought she should at least have one since she loved them so much, but I would love to have it engraved with their wedding date. It says it is silver plated brass. Thoughts?

Yes it can be engraved, but the engraving will reveal the brass underneath. If that is objectionable you could then have it replated, or if it is artisan made, ask them if they can make one in sterling.
