I can't read it as I'm not a subscriber.. but Peggy Noonan is well known right winger who slants everything she writes.

I think this a better read from what I can tell after just reading a bit of the Wall Street Journal.

ETA: I found a site where I could read the article. Peggy Noonan is and always has been smug. She seems to be lamenting the fact that rich people are rich and shield their children and themselves from the 'lower end' I'd ask Peggy Noonan how close she lives to immigrants in Manhattan, where the average apartment costs over 2$ Million.. yup 2 million.. New York seem to be pushing immigrants upstate (where it's cheaper) the elites of NYC seem to be shielding themselves.

Tekate - I am not a subscriber either, and find that when I take a link like that, I can't see the article. However, if I note the title, then go Google it, and take the link from there, I can. You may still have to click around one of those pages that cover the screen and try to demand your attention, but it probably won't be the one that says NO!!!!

Try that next time, see if it works for you.

Yes, KS, one of the rabbit holes I thought of is our shrinking middle class. I'm sure both the left and the right recognize the problem, but it continues.

T, I don't understand why you think Noonan is unreliable. The NYT is left leaning, but I still read and consider what is written.
