Thanks Enerchi! My teeth didn't hurt very much this morning so I was kinda freaking out about my surgery but now sitting here it hurts like a mofo! So I cannot wait!

Thanks! I'm gonna try to milk it as much as possible. I asked DH to go rent to Magic Mike so that I can watch it in bed. I heard the story line is very very well thought out! hahahah!

They gave me gas that didn't knock me out but left me Twilighty. For a girl whose never been "high" in her life - WOW! See y'all on a future Intervention!
When I had my wisdom teeth out, I also had gas but it knocked me out so I never really felt the effects the same way I did today -- for a prolonged semi-awake kind of deal. Also I was super young & don't really remember much except that I went directly from surgery to producing live television at a shopping channel. On quite a bit of pain medicine. Wish I could remember more specifics for you in the hopes it would help you prepare but I. Am. Old.![]()
Wow Decodelighted! I'm glad you got to experience some good-time gas! And count me in for your intervention!

There were only 3 to remove, and the missing one was on the bottom - I hear bottom ones hurt more than top, so that may have been a factor in the ease of my recovery. I had very minimal swelling, no complications, and was out at the mall eating soft food (cheesecake) the same day. So not everyone has an awful experience, and I hope yours is like mine!
I highly recommend the sedation if it's an option for you. It's possible to do without sedation, but it makes things a lot more comfortable and easy. I'm also not afraid of dental procedures, but it's just hard to keep your mouth open for the duration of the procedure and deal with the saliva and all that.
Bottom ones hurt more! AWWWWW! I thought it was the other way around! All my three are on the bottom...

I hope it goes smoothly for you.
I had two of mine out a couple of years ago. My BIG mistake was scheduling for December 23.... Ooops. It left me with a really long weekend to recover before going back to work and was in the middle of my school break so no classes to worry about. The anti-anxiety drugs that they promised would knock me flat kicked in after they were done so I pretty much slept the rest of the 23rd and much of the 24th. After that, I was MISERABLE. The pain was awful and the dang ibuprophin (extra stong but still!!) didn't do anything for me. Of course being Christmas Eve, the dentist was closed up for the weekend along with pretty much everyone else until Monday so I had the whole weekend to survive...
The other BIG mistake I made was being TOO careful to keep my mouth clean. I followed the directions I was given very carefully, but I still managed to get dry socket![]()
I couldn't manage to eat anything the first day. By the 2nd, I could manage stuff that was super soft (preferably slightly chilled). (Oh -- don't eat broccoli! All the little green bits from the crown lodge in around the gaping hole and are uncomfortable)
I had to call in sick to work or leave after just an hour or so until about Wednesday the next week (so almost one week after) due to the awful pain and groginess/sickness caused by pain meds (and I didn't even get "the good ones"!). It got better gradually, but the first couple of weeks were pretty tough and I just didn't want to do anything other than curl up on the couch with pudding and flan.
AHHHH! Dry socket is freaking me out! Thanks for the broccoli advice tho! I bought some broccoli to steam after my surgery but didn't even think about those little bits! I did get three different flavors of ice cream. Oregon Strawberry, French Vanilla, and Udderly Chocolate for later when I can maybe start chewing on the little chocolate pieces!
