IG, are you making a regular tulle veil or a birdcage? I''ve seen some great tutorials on the internet about making your own birdcage. I know the french or russian netting is a bit more hard to find that tulle, but some fabric stores sell it or you can order it online. I only ask because I think you mentioned you were wearing a birdcage veil.
I had big plans to do a birdcage, but now that I''m playing around with this tulle, I''m not so sure! Luckily, because my wedding will be in two parts, I can do both if I want.
I have this site: http://mysite.verizon.net/res0da3o/birdcageveilbio/id10.html for birdcage DIY. Do you have others you can share? I don''t really like the style of this one.
oh, right, I completely forgot about the 2 events.
When I was thinking about making my own veil I found a great thread on indiebride.com where a woman who made her own used pictures to show exactly what she''d done. I just looked through the thred again and it looks like the pictures have expired, so there''s no longer a pictoral tutorial.
Oooh. I made a veil last night while we watched Sopranos on DVD. I still have to decorate it, and I don''t even know if I''m going to actually wear it for the wedding! But it looks great and was really fun to make. Took me about 45 minutes. Cost of materials (so far, without beads or decorations) was $5 so no loss if I decide not to go that way.
