Dust Request-- for my dog!

My beloved little dog is scheduled to have dental surgery under anesthesia in the morning. He's a tiny little guy, advanced in years to boot, so I'm worried about the anesthesia. Overall he's in good health for his age, but with his age comes advanced risk. He's such a sweet boy, and a huge source of love and fun in our lives (Like all great dogs are, right?), and I'm quite worried about tomorrow. I was cuddling him earlier and couldn't stop a nerves-based tear from slipping from my eye, and he turned around and started giving me lots of kisses...

If any of you could spare good wishes, prayers, or a little of the famous PS dust for him to come through the surgery beautifully and have a smooth recovery at home, I would really appreciate it!

a little late, but dusting for your baby - I know when my little guy got his teeth cleaned it scared me as well (and i cried too). Hoping he feels much better and so do you!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! The Dust worked!!! :appl:

The little guy did very well yesterday under anesthesia, and was alert when I was allowed to pick him up to bring him home. I expected him to be conked out and/or woozy in the car home like the prior time, but after a five minute cat nap he poked his head out of his car carrier to take a look around and get some attention and lovin', even getting up on his hind legs to make his point that he was up and ready for action. He napped on my lap yesterday afternoon, ate well last night, and even grabbed one of his little fluffy toys and tried to entice my SO to play a game of tug-and-fetch with him before bed!

Missy, thank you for posting so quickly. Seeing those first well-wishes really helped soothe my nerves (Great! The magic PS Dusting is en route now!), and it was a great comfort to receive them from a pet lover like yourself. You have four kitties currently, yes? Which is the cutie in your avatar?

Jilly, I thought of your post when he tried to give me a kiss when he first saw me in the exam room but then thought better of it when it looked like his tongue hit a sore spot. But by last night, he accomplished what he had tried to do earlier. Thank you so much for the dust!

Thing2, one of the most enjoyable elements of PS for me is how it is populated by passionate animal-lovers like yourself. I always read your threads, and remember your own post about Charles in August. How is he doing under his new regimen?

Luv2Sparkle, my fellow dust recipient, the power of the stuff is amazing, isn't it? How is Abby the Puppy doing now? Do you still feel like she might have vision issues, or with the passage of time has her little puppy body been able to heal itself splendidly like young bodies often do?

Minmin, thank you for the dust, I am so grateful that you took the time to post. (So I have to ask, who is that cute sleeping kitty in your avatar?)

Lulu, you always show such love and support for the pet owners on this board. It's so very, very appreciated. When I think of the big animal-advocates on this board, your name (and the avatar image of your own advanced-age sweetie) appears on the top of the list. It's nice to know there are people here like you who get it!

Violet, I so appreciate your post; it's amazing how we can be strong and courageous women in so many areas of life, but when it comes to things like this all that emotional fortitude goes out the window? My first vet was a lovely and gentle woman, but one point she drove home when my dog was just a puppy was how dangerous anesthesia was in pets over age 7, going so far as to repeatedly and firmly put a moratorium on surgery after that age. So in my pup went regularly for professional teeth cleanings until that age, but after then there were none for years for the fear of anesthesia that first vet put in me. It is only when I found the specialist that I did who firmly understands anesthesia protocols for small animals that it even came on the table as a possibility... but even then, there was still anxiety. (FWIW, knowing that you share the concern about your pup going under, my little guy just turned 14; the vet shared he had an extremely smooth anesthesia for any age.)

Thank you sooooooo much for your well-wishes and dusting. I'm not normally a superstitious women, but I believe in the power of PS Dust and am very appreciative of all of you who posted. It really helped calm my nerves to know the PS community was sending good thoughts our way!

Fleur, I am SO glad everything went well for your baby! I would have never been at all worried about it until we had the problem with Abby! Now, I am terrified of it! So very glad your little guy handled it so well!

Abby is doing great. She is completely back to normal and I don't think there is anything wrong with her vision. I am so amazed! I guess with brain injury, like with people, the younger you are the better the outcome. She is back to basic puppyness, tearing things up and
stealing socks where ever she can find them. She is a challenge, like most doxies, she has a mind of her own and doesn't really want to
listen. The funniest thing is she steals everything from our doxie boy. She will steal a treat right out of his mouth. A meatball treat. She
has to stick her snout in his mouth to steal it. She won't share toys, she steals those too, and makes a little pile for herself. She is such a naughty little girl. I guess that is a good sign!

Fleur, that is wonderful news!! I am so happy he is doing well!!! :appl: What a huge relief! Please give him lots of hugs and kisses from me!

We do have 4 kitties...I used to think people who had that many were crazy but I can now see how easily it can happen LOL.
Francesca (aka Frankie) is the sweetie in my avatar. She is a little minx for sure- always looking for new ways to get into trouble but as sweet as they come. Our oldest (Fred) needs dental work too and I am procrastinating because I am afraid of putting him through the anesthesia. He is an older cat and he also is a bit overweight and has asthma so not the picture of health. Thanks for asking. :wavey:

Luv,, I am so glad your little Abby is back to herself and that her vision is restored. Thank goodness it all worked out!

So glad to hear that everything went well, fleur! I think anybody who has a beloved pet (I have 2 adorable bunnies :)) ) can understand the anxiety associated with putting them through any kind of procedure.
