Home dust. please.

I generally post in the TTC-thread and but thought that it may be more appropriate to move my house dreams to a seperate place.

I would be most appreciative of a nice dusting for good luck.

We put an offer on a house. It''s really a nugget of a home. We fell in love at the open house this past weekend, went back for another walk-thru Monday night and then took the plunge. What sealed the deal, aside from being a pretty darn ideal property, was the fact that there are tons of young families in the neighborhood. On our second walk-thru, we showed up around 7:30 and the streets were full of families taking walks, riding bicycles, etc.

It''s definitely a move to a more suburban spot - we currently are in DC-proper in a super neighborhood, but could never afford a similar house in the area.

This morning we got an update that Mrs. Seller has signed the contract and is taking it to Mr. Seller for his signature. Apparently, he has verbally committed to signing. But our agent cautioned us that it''s not final until everything is signed. The wait and anticipation is exciting and excruciating.

festy - the house was built in 1940 and though it's been updated, manages to retain much of the charm of that time. ahh. i love an oldy but a goodie.

cara - when I was little my father commuted from LI into Manhattan and I vowed never, ever to have a miserable commute. Currently, it takes me about 6 minutes to get to work. We've driven the route from this house back to the city a few times and it seems like it'll be manageable. my DH can take the metro, but I don't work in a metro-accessible part of town.
