Hi Little Monster, we took her in just before Halloween. If I can help it I don''t leave any stray black cat I see around that time on the street, it''s just not safe. And Lucy looks just like a Halloween cat. She''s a pretty and sassy lady.

Thank you Musey!

Julia, they are very loving, all the black cats I''ve known have had a lot of wonderful qualities. I do wish people would look beyond the fur.

Thank you Whitby.

gypsy -

we used to have an all black cat some years ago, and never thought anything of it. but...

i was *staggered* by how many people would see her, then comment about the occult/superstitious meaning to black cats. so altho it makes ZERO sense to me, i''m not surprised it''s an extra issue you''re having to deal with. i really am wishing you well and will be relieved right along with you, i''m sure, when you find her a good home.

i''m so glad you took her in, tho. the problem with un-homed pets in this country is dreadful - some people are just heartless. i''m glad this little girl had you to rescue her.

Lots of dust for Lucy. Everyone needs a forever home.

Sorry for the time it took to update. Thank you all so much for your thougful comments and caring.

I sent them a 'bio' and some pics an they are still deciding. The rescues around here are well, strange for the most part. We're taking her to my grandparent's once a week and she loves it there, all by herself and gets sad when we bring her back. But my grandparents don't want a pet.

Here's the bio I wrote for her:

Hello my name is Lucy and I would like to apply for the position of your Kitty.

I am sassy 2 year old single lady looking to find my forever parents. My foster parents found me on their patio in an apartment community where I started visiting them, hoping they might love me and feed me. They did both, and more. But unfortunately, though I have tried to get along with their resident cats, it’s not a good fit as I really do prefer to be the only princess of my palace.

I love people and while I am initially cautious when strangers come around, I come out after just a couple of second to check out guests and ask them for pets and head scratches, and then I stay out so that everyone can see what a lovely lady I am. I prefer to sit on your lap for hours or right next to you or above your head if you are on a comfy chair. I am generally a great all around companion and I do like a good snuggle, but will be the first to admit that I usually prefer to initiate such activities and while you can carry me for short periods of time, I like to have my feet on the ground. I also have to confess that I value some alone time, so during the days I enjoy a good snooze in my favorite chair or in a sun beam. Bird watching is always a lot of fun too. I also like to play with toys, and my foster parents will send me home with my favorite bed, my little house/ cat tree, and my favorite toys. I am happy to play alone or interactively.

I don’t scratch furniture, or walls or carpets, and generally am good with my claws, though they are kept trim as when I play I can sometimes forget to retract them. I have a funny meow that sounds like a quack, and sometimes I warble. I’m not terribly talkative, though I can be if the mood strikes me. Right now I’m a little on the plump side as I’m confined to a bedroom and don’t get very much activity, but with the room to roam and play I should re-gain the girlish figure I once had. I also have very nice manners and do not jump on tables or kitchen countertops. I do love to watch you eat human food though I haven't found anyone who will give me any, which is probably the best thing for my figure.

Other than that? I don’t like fleas, and they don’t like me. So please keep me on Frontline because my beautiful black coat is very luxurious and soft and compliments my bright greenish eyes perfectly when my skin is flea free. I am spayed and FIV/FeLV negative and up to date on routine shots and I even have a very stylish white beauty mark/ freckle on my nose that sets me apart from the pack.

If you are looking for a princess with a lot of love to give, I am just the lady for you!

OMG Gypsy she looks so BEAUTIFUL - her coat is so lush and soft and shiny compared to when we met her over Christmas and she had only been with you a short while. I am keeping fingers and toes and paws crossed HARD that they will take her - she deserves the best possible home!

Hi Amber, yeah, once we got her on frontline and her flea allergy went away her fur came in slowly, but it is GORGEOUS fur. And so shiny. She looks 100% better. She''s even prettier now. Which is so rewarding. Her fur was so thin and dull when we got her (first pic on this page is the first week we got her and you can see the difference) and she was so skinny. She''s really come into herself.

I do want her to find the right home so badly.

I saw your pics of the Victoria Loaf. LOL. She''s looking great under your mom''s care and your house guests are ADOREABLE. I love Albert though, he''s such a handsome fellow!

Oh soooooo much *dust* for the gorgeous girl - what a sweetheart

She sure is pretty-so sleek. Love the ad. Keeping my fingers crossed.

thanks for the update gypsy. still keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

She''s lovely! I have such a soft spot for kitties! I hope someone comes along soon to be her new mommy and daddy!

Thank you Blackpaw, she looks so similar to the lovely baby in your AV. I do hope we can find her the right home.

Hi Lulu, she''s a very lovely girl, and I''m glad you like the ad. It was kinda fun to write, but I worried it was REALLY long.

Thank you for asking Whitby, I really appreciate your concern and care. ((HUGS))

Hi Packrat, I hope so too. I''m trying to think of other creative ways of finding her a home, and everyone keeps suggesting Craigslist, but I just can''t do that.

I''m glad you saw the Victoria loaf - she is seriously spoiled beyond belief in my mom''s house. She calls her "the princess" and she gets whatever she wants, always. She sleeps on my mom''s head every night - so cute

She is looking very sleek and, like Lucy, her fur has come in soft and sleek and she has put on some weight.

Albert is a handsome boy, and so mellow. I still remember when DH and I found him - running wild in our old apartment complex, probably abandoned, but he let me pick him up and just carry him for blocks

And now he''s all smooth and shiny and sleek too

They need love. And attention. And then they bloom. We grow kitties.

I want THAT garden!

I love the ad, and Lucy looks BEAUTIFUL! I absolutely adore black kitties. Thank you for taking care of her and making sure she finds a forever home.

What a beautiful, sweet looking kitty. I hope she gets a WONDERFUL home!

Lots of catnip dust for your beautiful kitty! I love black kittys!

No word. Need help. She''s such a love bug.

Anyone know anyone who wants an only kitty?

Sorry dear but LOTS and LOTS of dust to her! You are such a great kitty mom!

I don't feel like one NF. I feel like a failure. You should see her when we take her to my grandparent's house... she's like a different cat. She's so freaking happy to be ALONE in a roomy place with PEOPLE and WANTED. And I just want that for her so bad, it's breaking my heart. She's a good girl. And she deserves better than once a week at grandpa's (while grandma is away in another country) and 6 days a week couped up in a second bedroom/home office.

I wish my parents, my uncle or my grandmother (grandpa is) were cat (or pet) people, but they aren't. At all. I don't even ask them to pet sit mine for a weekend. And everyone I know who loves cats, already HAS cats.

I need an older couple with an empty nest with a lot of love to lavish on a single princess. Or a crazy cat person who wants only ONE cat at a time.
