FI is having his wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow

and I am scared for him!!! I''m a worrier and had to take off from work tomorrow because I knew I''d have agada all day. His sister is taking him because I was scheduled to have jury duty tomorrow, but didn''t get called in.
Apparently, he is not having anesthesia

which boggles my mind. I guess maybe because they are only partially impacted. I''m guessing they''re going to just give him a lot of Novocaine in his mouth.
Anyway, I''m just asking for dust that all goes well and he recovers well. Thanks in advance, PSers. You guys are amazing!!!

Sending dust for easy time and quick recovery!

Sending dust for a quick recovery!

A couple years ago I got my wisdom teeth out and was asleep for the entire thing. When I woke up it hurt a lot and I definitely took the painkillers and got pretty swollen, but it wasn''t quite as bad as I expected.

When DH got his wisdom teeth out, he wasn''t put to sleep - he was awake for it. I was so worried about him, but he came home, put an ice pack on for the first day, and barely got swollen at all and didn''t take any painkillers. Not sure how it happened, but he said it hardly hurt. I worried for nothing! Hopefully your FI has a similar experience to my DH!

Wow, I was asleep through all of mine, and glad I was. I much preferred just being able to wake up and have it over with. I bet your DH's will be like my dad's and my brother's - they gave him some gas, but they were both awake. The gas just put them in la-la land, and they can both recount scenes from it where they just feel sort of out-of-body. Dad describes the surgeon's hands as appearing 5 feet wide and wondering how they were ever going to fit in his mouth, haha.

Don't fret. No worries - I'm sure your DH will be fine. Have lots of icepaks and frozen peas ready. And yogurt and applesauce.

I hardly ate any - I just mainly slept with that pain medicine they give. (Just remember you might want to wrap up the frozen peas in another bag, as they start to smell funny after lots of thawing and freezing.

Thanks Lilac. That''s exactly how his went. He was awake and they just popped his teeth out. I couldn''t imagine being awake.

Strawberries, thanks for you hilarious comment about the peas. I will definitely have to do that!

Woops, if I''d read a little more, I''d have realized he was already done by the time I responded! Haha.

Anyway, sounds like he''s done and all went well! You''ll have to ask him in a few days what he recalls from the actual surgery, and see if things were really wacky or what. Sometimes it''s really funny the way they remember things.

Take care of him - haha he''ll probably just be out of it for a while. Changing the gauze is yuck-o.

But hey, it''s love.

Glad everything went well.

Thank you so much strawberries for your kind words. They meant a lot to me
