so since I joined just last year, did PS have PM back in the days? and not now?

Yes they used to a long time ago.

Ditto the above. It hasn''t existed since I joined (almost three years ago). You can find lots of discussion on this if you''re interested, there were good reasons for discontinuing it.

PMs were abused by some. Very badly. None of the threads that were allowed disucussed the worst of it.

It is unfortunate as I did not abuse them. I did however support their elimination when things came to a head.
