I have to say that I am near professional status. My driving record reflects this. I am fast and efficient. My husband thinks I am a horrible driver. He says that he is a way better driver than I am however he has accidents on his record. In the five years that we have been together he has had 3 accidents and I have had 1 that was in no way my fault. I wish that there was a test that you could do to prove who is the better driver.

It depends on how you look at it. We''ve both had our (usually minor) accidents, and I''ve had my fair share of speeding tickets.

However, if you need a getaway driver, I am your girl.

It depends which one of us you ask.

I get better mileage.
I've averaged over 52 MPG for the life of my hybrid, 1700 miles.
IMHO, today using minimum gas is the new imperative of driving when our sons and daughters are dying in an oil war.

Also driving to maximize MPG results in very safe driving.

Im by far the better driver, if you asked hubs he would agree. Thats why I get stuck driving EVERYWHERE! It sucks, lol. But I guess its better than the alternative..Dh tends to "not see" stop signs in time

. I suspect he does it on purpose to scare me into being the driver.

It works.

DH is the better driver, much as I hate to admit it. I''m a decent driver, but I get stressed out and anxious if the roads are bad or there''s a lot of traffic.

I think I'm absolutely the better driver, but that's mostly because I drive stick shift better (both of our cars are manuals, but I've been driving one my whole life and he's only been doing it for 3 years). He tends to have more little issues with proactively picking the right gear, etc than I do. Other than that, we're pretty equal. I drive a little faster and more aggressively, but not much. We actually have pretty similar driving styles I think.

ETA: When it comes to driving in cities, I am far better and he'll admit it
2.gif
He'll actually drive in Boston
32.gif
but refuses to drive in NYC (or anywhere near it; he won't get within 30 miles of Manhattan as the driver). I, however, have no problem driving in and around the city and actually enjoy it occasionally (when I'm not sitting in traffic not moving)

DH is the more cautious driver.

I''m the more confident driver.

He''s been in multiple accidents.

I''ve never been in one.

*shrug*

I think we''re good drivers in different ways. He''s better at night and in the rain/snow but has a horrible temper when driving. I''m more level headed, so I''m better in cities and in traffic, but I''ve got a total lead foot.

I am an extreme case, since still can''t drive (always lived in cities). I''ve started taking lessons (yes, in my 30''s). So DH has been driving since the 80''s and I''m going for my permit, woo hoo!

My fiance ALWAYS drives, always. We just went on a roadtrip across the country and he drove the entire way. I am a terrible driver.

I''m a more cautious driver, but I think my husband is probably a better driver.

I am a way better driver than FI. You should see him parallel park.

LOL I parallel parked the other night and DH was so shocked because it was textbook perfect (**tooting horn**)

We''re both quite good but I''d say I''m a bit better than him.

eta just asked him and he agreed!

Gee, *NOW* I wish we had a Private Message system!!!

I'm probably the better driver and the more confident one, FI is definitely the more cautious driver. She is fine with towns, places and routes she knows, but if it involves maps, directions or heavy traffic, she hands the keys to me.

There is. Both of you go to one of those race car schools and see who turns in the faster laps.

me me mem ememememememe me me me me me me.. but he usually drives

My backseat driving would indicate otherwise,

but I''d say he is. Don''t tell him I said that.

That said, he either drives like a granny or like a madman. It''s really irritating.

I wish every car had a black box in it that would record the drivers every action.
If every car had this with a GPS positioning a database would track everything and know all.
Every traffic accident would have a clear at-fault driver.

Every time you went over the speed limit you'd get a ticket in the mail.
Your insurance bill would be high if you drove badly and low if you drove safely.

I'll bet we have the technology today.
Unfortunately I think most people would hate this.
They want to protect their "right" to do what they should not do.

We''re both good drivers, though he is a little more impatient than I am.

The black box thing is a good idea. I do not want an automatic ticket every time I speed. If they didn''t want us to dive over 65mph then why do they make cars that do 160. Cars like being driven fast.

Me. Hubby is a good driver too, but he gets frustrated and tends to tailgate people or drive a little erratically, which is a little scary!
32.gif

We''re both good drivers but we both HATE to drive. We both get anxious driving. I hate going over 65 mph
and having 18 wheelers pass me. Just scares the heck out of me. My husband has height issues so if there is
a high bridge or overpass he gets very anxious. I''m looking forward to my 16 year old son getting his DL so we
can go somewhere!

I'd say my husband. I've never had a speeding ticket (he's had a couple), but he's never had an accident (I've been in a few minor ones
17.gif
).

Definitely him. It''s not that I''m bad, but he drove 50,000 miles per year for four years (most work related). He''s spent a lot of time behind the wheel!

I''m far from being a perfect driver but I am definitely a better driver than my husband- he is...
32.gif

Hands down I am the better driver. Hubby has racked up a few speeding tickets and has had a few minor fender benders..

go ahead and toot!!

cuz most younger drivers never learned to parallel park.

I am a far better driver than my husband. I have driven far more than he has and drive far more than he does. Not only do I drive a lot daily, but I make a huge number of trips between Virginia and Connecticut (300 miles each way). I would be pretty set up in my own self-esteem if I hadn't been humbled by my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Unlike my previous Jeep Cherokee, I cannot see the entire vehicle and I have to admit to scraping it (albeit gently) on things like the inside of my garage door frame more than once. I had a boyfriend, once, who could judge distance to about 1/8 inch when he was driving. Not only did he drive as well as I did (and it is rare for me to find someone who does), but he judged distance 1,000 times better and he could drive in reverse. When I reverse down a hill with curves I have to do so carefully. Cops on TV shows can drive quickly in reverse. I don't know how one practices that :-).

Well, I''ve only had one ticket and no accidents that were my fault. DH has totalled a couple cars and was a high risk driver for YEARS. So, I''m undecided. I''m definitely a safer driver, but he must be a good driver to have never gotten hurt in his craziness!
