So I''m wearing a form fitting mermaid dress. It''s got enough room to move around/dance in....and we''re doing our dance number in the beginning so I have to be able to bust out some moves in it.... couple of concerns though!

1) Should I be doing a pretty active routine in heels? I feel like kicking up a heel might catch the material on the inside of the dress since it''s so bunchy! I could switch to high heeled flip flops

2) My dress is VERY fitted. I don''t want to wrench it around my body or anything overly active. It has a belt on the inside and a piece in the front to stabilize the whole thing. Somewhat delicate. During our dance routine my FI is supposed to swing me out by my arm, pull me in and rapidly twirl me around and dip me. During practice this can get a bit rough. I''m wondering if we are going to have to be really careful or else risk a dress accident.

Anyone have some pointers on what to do or not do here?

Put the dress on and practice. Better to find out in private than on the dance floor. You don''t want the girls to pop out unexpectedly or anything

I agree with purrfectpear. HOWEVER, if you don''t want the FH to see your dress beforehand, I would ask someone else to practice with you. As long as you have enough time to get it repaired before the big day, that''s really your only option.

I agree...get a good friend to do the dance with you. Twirl you ect. See what it does and go from there.

Also FI shouldn''t be whipping you around and yanking you back. The dance should be fluid and you should follow and move on your own. He just needs to motion you to start you movement, not actually reel you in. If FI has a "firm hand" tell him to take it easy on you. Kudos on the two of you taking lessons and choreographing. Have fun!
