Far from being the joyous experience I expected I am finding this whole dress experience thing a complete nightmare. I get married in a shade under 7 months and the dress is still not decided. Things are slightly complicated in that I will be 43 when I get married, my H2B will be 33 (his first attempt) and we are marrying in church. I therefore want to look bridal, but age appropriate, which is more tricky than it sounds. I am 5 5, and will be 140 pounds ish when I marry ( I am about 14 above that at the moment, but have lost 37 so far this year). I am very hourglass shape wise (32GG girls) and always have waist whatever I weigh. My current favourite is this one. It was the only one that made me tear up when I saw it on.

The two reservations I have are, is it bridal enough? My F1 seems to like the really bridey stuff, but it really doesn''t do anything for me at all

If anyone wore a dress this shape can you please post pictures so I can see what the shape looks like on a real person.

HELP wondeful PS''ers! I am getting to the point where I will just where anything to get the process over with and that would be so sad.

I think the dress is very bridey and lovely. Do you like the beading and lace?

Thanks oobiecoo, I love the beading and the lace

I think the dress is stunning - and certainly bridey enough. And I think the top comes up enough to contain the girls, so to speak.

And I have to thank you, cause while I was checking out your dress, I found one that I think I like, this kind of style anyway, so thanks!

ETA - OK, hold on! That link sends you straight back to the 1st dress, even when you search through other dresses, which style number is your one?

I like 11024 for me, but when I link the page, it gives me what I thought was your dress? I am confused!!

Hi Honey

12001 for me. The one you like is so beautiful and elegant

Then I think you really can''t go wrong with that dress. The style is probably very flattering and should definitely be bridal enough for your fiance.

Hi Samantha, I know EXACTLY what you''re feeling, because I will be 49

when I get married next year. Also, I am exactly your height, and almost exactly your target weight, although my figure is proportioned differently. I tried on a lot of dresses that looked completely ridiculous on me, though they would be lovely on a 20-something bride. Also, some of the dresses were beautiful, but didn''t hide the dreaded tummy bulge that I swore would never happen to me, but, recently, has, despite my best efforts. Anyway, your dress is certainly plenty "bridal," and if you love it, go for it. FYI, I never got that "this it it" teary-eyed feeling when I found my dress, but I knew nevertheless that it was the perfect dress for me and the simple wedding I will be having. Here''s what I ended up with:

OK, I was looking at another one initially, but I like that one even better!!!

Samantha, I just wanted to commiserate with you on having a large chest. I was your size (and still getting bigger) when I got my reduction, and my back has thanked me so many times since then.

I think the dress you posted is beautiful and totally appropriate!
