Is this dress too fancy/avant-garde for rehearsal dinner? I wanted to wear something a little different. It will be at a nice Italian restaurant...not a VERY nice restaurant, but in between I guess.

Anyway, my questions are:

1) is this dress kind of weird? I love it, but I put it on for my fiance and he had a weird look on his face...
2) is it too formal for a rehearsal dinner?

Thanks for the advice ladies!

1) I think the dress is great! Very nice style.
2) If you are going to be stressed over whether it''s too fancy, etc. don''t wear it - your rehearsal dinner dress should not be a worry when there are so many other things on your mind. You don''t want to miss the fun worrying about a dress.
3) If you are worried about what the look on your fiance''s face meant go with something else... it will just add more worry!
4) If you can put it on and forget about it and just feel fabulous in it - Wear the hell out of that dress! You deserve to feel special that night too!

Such a cute dress! I think it is great!!!!!! I broke the rules and wore a white dress (black sweater over) and was SAD it was too informal!!!!

I LOVE THAT DRESS! Wear it, you will look fabulous!

1) No! It''s a really cute dress.
2) No! It''s a really cute dress.

Oh Lanie, that dress is FABULOUS! I absolutely love it! Wear it and rock the heck out it because it''s that awesome and you''re going to look bootiful

I think its really cute! But don''t wear it if you will feel uncomfortable.

I LOVE it! I wouldn''t worry about being too dressy, since you are the bride...you have a right to be more dressy than everyone else!

Lanie, I saw your post last night before going to bed and I couldn't make up my mind if it was to formal for the event or not. The first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning was your dress!! Let me first tell you that I absolutely love love love the dress! It's so avant-garde, gorgeous!

Now, even though the restaurant is not all that fancy, I still think you can dress up fancy - it's your wedding rehearsal, when is the next time you'll be having a wedding rehearsal anyways?!

Sooo, I'd say, WEAR THE DRESS! I would go low key on jewelry, maybe just some pearls/drops on your ears? And perhaps a bracelet, if that. I really do hope you wear the dress, I cant wait to see pics of you in it!

I don''t think the dress is too fancy or avant-garde for dinner at any normal restaurant... much less a rehearsal dinner. It seems like a nice normal dress to me. If you were having a backyard BBQ, I might suggest something else, but I think it looks nice! Rehearsal dinners can be any level of formality though, so really we can''t advise you since you are the one who knows the restaurant and the people you will be inviting to the dinner and what they are likely to wear. Are they likely to show up in polo shirts and cotton dresses with sandals, or are they the button down shirts and dresses crowd?

Its lovely, it could be dressed up with hair/makeup shoes. Or if you wore a simpler list of accessories will not be too formal. That said if you are not 100% comfortable then I would not wear it to the dinner...maybe save it for the honeymoon.

Thanks ladies for your input...especially kama_s! That was so sweet of you. I think I''ll pair it with some simple accessories.

I will wear the dress. I will rock it. It''s my only rehearsal dinner. My fiance''s weird expression from before will be replaced with a silly, sheepish grin because he knows what''s coming the next night! Hee hee! I can''t wait!!!

I love it and am SO glad you're wearing it!! Who makes it/where did you get it?!

Yay! I''m glad you are!

It''s from Nordstrom''s. I just ordered it so they should have more on there. It comes in black and a deep purple as well. I opted for this blue bc it''s the same color that my bmaids are all wearing!

I love it - wear it!!!
