Who is this guy exactly? Is he just famous for being rich or something? He's trying to build a golf course in Scotland in an inappropriate place and annoying a lot of people. The local authority won't use compulsory purchase powers to buy out the people who live on the land he wants, so he can't build it. Yet, every so often he visits, and gives all these jaunty little up beat press releases about how well it's all going. I don't get it. I'm assuming he isn't thick, since he seems to be successful in business, but I don't get why he thinks it's going well.

Well, to put it in Pricescope terms, he's the dude who bought his fiancee 12ct diamond ring from Graff for US$1,5mil... And scored a 50% discount.

I thought everyone knew who Trump is. He is always in everyone's face as long as I can remember (since the 1970s).


He is actually a real estate developer,as was his father, (mainly hotels at first then casinos) and I believe he was in bankruptcy once many years ago, but rose from among the poor to be richer than you know who!

yes, he filed bankruptcies (cpt 11)... but its not the kind that many of us are used to seeing (chp 7), he didn't walk away, close his doors and put his debts on others. He "reorganized" his debt strategically to further his empire and kept over thousand employed, Again, he's a savvy business man that knows how the financial market works.

Soocool, I'm vaguely aware of him, in that he's been annoying people in Scotland recently, trying to 'develop' some land. As far as I can see, he's meeting with a remarkable lack of success, but still seems pleased with progress. I'm just puzzled by that, more than anything.

I do recall people making fun of his hair when he visited Scotland. We're usually more hospitable to visitors. As hair goes, it is... unusual, but still.
