Dolphins!

We went to Captiva Island in Florida for our vacation recently. We chartered a boat one day and went up to North Captiva. The Captain of this boat has good luck with attracting dolphins that like to play in the wake of his boat. He says that they like his diesel engine. Here are some pictures of the dolpins playing right behind us. They could swim sooo fast!

Patty - that is so cool! I love dolphins, but I don''t think I''ve ever been that close to a dolphin, except at the aquarium. one time I saw them off the coast one weekend at VA beach...hmph, not nearly as cool! That is so awesome though, it must''ve been so exciting for you and your family! I hope the rest of your trip was just as enjoyable.

Thanks Blue! We did have a great vacation. We saw dolphins almost every day in the gulf as well as in the bay right behind our condo. But the boat trip topped them all.

That is really cool Patty! My Grandmother used to live in Miami and we would go watch the dolphins play everytime we went to see her. They are just wonderful animals! How exciting for your family. Thank you for sharing!

I went swimming with dolphins in May in the Bahamas. It was truly one of the most amazing experiences I''ve ever had.
Their skin feels like slick, wet rubber and they are extremely strong. And for lack of a better term, they seem extremely happy.
