ok, the wrinkles are teeny tiny, but based on my dad''s wrinkles (yes, i look like him) i am afraid they will just continue to get deeper and deeper with age, does any one have any non-botox recommendations? creams of any sort?

Topical : Strivectin - i use this on my face and its wonderful.... it really helps smoothe out the wrinkles...
there is always botox... but I wont touch that stuff like you.

I would make sure that you are not furrowing your brows unnecessarily throughout the day. Sounds silly I know, but I found myself furrowing my brows when I was brushing my teeth for some reason. I''ve since stopped doing that, but I try to pay attention to stuff like that because I think it makes a difference in the long run!

i''m just concerned because my dad has really deep wrinkles, he is even considering getting laser surgery on them, he''s had those wrinkle even before he was my age, but i just worry that genetics will play a part and bam! deep eyebrow wrinkles for me too

My mother uses Strivectin and swears that it''s making a difference - she has very deep wrinkles and was "joking" that her face was starting to resemble one of those dried-apple dolls. I gave her some for Mother''s day, thinking that if nothing else it might have a placebo effect -- but about three months later, she swears it''s making a difference.

(I treated myself to some too, but I''m not seeing a difference yet.

Amethyste -- do you use just the cream, or are you also using some of the serums or other products?)

Whatever you do, please don''t quit smiling! I know someone who decided a long time ago that too much smiling leads to wrinkles, so you rarely see her smile, even in family photos and such... ugh! I''d rather have the smile lines, thank you!

Hey there VRBeauty!

I didn''t want to splurge and get the serum ( a whopping $150 ) at first not knowing if it would work for me, so I tried the one in a tube. Its not really a cream, more like a liquid beige cream, you have the same one? I thought it made a difference after a month or so, i looked more rested... I think maybe next time, I''ll try the serum, but I am not sure if I can work up the courage to fork out that much money, enough to give me another wrinkle lol :) I use Vichy moisturizer, and just a mineral face powder...

Amethyste -- Hi back at ya!

That sounds like the same cream I''ve been using. My mother was so enthusiastic about it that she bought me some of the heat-activated serum... but I, uh, haven''t worked it into my routine yet. I''m guessing that my age is somewhere between yours and my mother''s, so if the regular cream works for the two of you, it just might work for me, too. I''ll have try using it more regularly!

Threadjack over!

ficklefaye: I originally bought the Strivectin for cheap at a department store bankruptcy sale, but I''ve also seen it at Ross at quit a discount from the regular price.

I bought my tube of Strivectin at Sephora when I visited NYC in march, and i still have plenty of left over to use, you dont need much of it at all, a tube goes a loooooooooooooooong way!. It was $54, not too bad to try...
VRBeauty, Are you over 40? That''s where I am in age

ugh... Where does the time go?!

I bought Strivectin a few years back and didn''t notice any difference. Maybe I didn''t use it long enough? Mostly I only used it around my eyes, not my forehead.

I too have the wrinkle there and even though I''m against facial plastic surgery, I may try and have something injected into it to make it soft and smooth again. I wouldn''t want to botox my forehead. . .need to find some sort of filler. Maybe fat from my upper arm?

I''m 40, have fine lines around my eyes, and I use RetinA. It''s not OTC, so you need a derm to prescribe it, but it has worked wonders. There is some initial peeling, but I swear, the texture on my face (I use it all over) has improved dramatically! I don''t have acne - I use it soley to improve wrinkles and get smooth skin.

Maybe try Frownies.

I know lots of women claim they make a difference, but I wasn''t persistent enough to see a change.

I agree. Ever since I can remember my mother has really deep lines between her brows from constantly furrowing them. I hated that look, and ever since I was a small girl I have made a point of never furrowing my brows. It has worked. I'm in my 50s now, and no lines between my brows.

My sister, who is 10 years younger than me, has more lines on her face. She has always been an expressive person, wrinkling her brow and all. I am convinced your habits make a difference.

I read the title and immediately thought, "uh...Botox!" But, other than that, hmmm....

I used this from Aveda before Botox. It is an eye cream, but I used to massage it into the area between my brows. I think it helped, but to be honest, I think it was more due to the massaging than the cream. I think when you relax those muscles (like Botox does
\), you don''t make them as much. And, massaging relaxes them.

I suggest Olay Regenerase Sculpting Cream!

retin A has worked well for me. I am turning 50 (yikes) this october and have nary a wrinkle on my face. Its not a quick fix though. Other than that Botox baby!
